Basking in the fame that comes after 'Clever Girl'
SINCE her win in TV3’s reality-based game show, Clever Girl, last year, Fatin Nuraisya Mohd Hanipha, 29, went on to host TV3’s bridal magazine show Mahligai Cinta (Season 9).
Therefore, these days, she is easily recognised on the streets.
“People have come up to me and asked to take photos together. I have been approached by students asking for tips in managing their studies,” said the Kelantan beauty at a media briefing of Clever Girl (Season 2) at Sri Pentas in Bandar Utama, Petaling Jaya.
Fondly known as Fatin, the full-time lawyer said that life was great so far.
“I’ve gained a lot of exposure from being involved in Clever Girl and Mahligai Cinta.
“The experiences have taught me a lot about the broadcasting scene. It is all about hard work and commitment.”
Fatin beat two other finalists — Mary Josephine Muhammad Houston from Pahang and Jane Lam Wai Chuin from Perak — to take home the Clever Girl Malaysia title and a RM100,000 cash prize.
Initially eliminated in Episode 5, Fatin and fellow contestant Arina Mohd Fairin Lum from Selangor returned to the show via a wildcard round.
Due to overwhelming response, Clever Girl returns this year with Season 2.
The first round of auditions will take place at The Zenith Hotel in Kuantan on April 1; Klagan Regency Hotel in Sabah on April 8; Merdeka Palace in Sarawak on April 15; Persada Johor Convention Centre in Johor on April 22; Setia Spice Convention Centre in Penang on April 29; and Sri Pentas in Bandar Utama on May 6 and 7.
Those interested can also upload a 60-second video of themselves on Instagram, explaining why they should be on the show. Remember to hashtag your post with #clevergirlmy and set your account to public.
Fatin’s advice to interested candidates? “Never be afraid to get out of your comfort zone and try something new.”
The audition is opened to all female Malaysians aged between 18 and 30. Clever Girl, set to premiere on Aug 4 at 9pm on TV3, sees singer and actor Alif Satar returning as host.
