Najib: Umno has made life better for Malays

BERA: Umno’s struggles have enabled Malays and bumiputras to enjoy a better life than communities in other countries, said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.

“Look at the African-Americans in the United States. They make up 12.6% of the population in the US and yet they form 37% of the prison population.

“We always thought of the US as the world’s largest economy but they have failed to create a fair and just system.

“They have no opportunities in upward social mobility,” he said.

Najib said the situation was diffe­rent in Malaysia where bumiputras had many opportunities, including in education.

“Don’t hope for such a programme if the Opposition controlled by DAP is in power. We must understand that what we see today cannot be separated from political dominion because it determines everything.

“Political dominion would determine the fate of things in this country,” he said at the first stop of the Bumiputra Education Tour 2017 here yesterday.

Najib said the programme would allow poor Malays and bumiputras to change their destiny through education by getting placements in public higher education institutions or being given technical and vocational training.

Efforts by the Government to help bumiputras in education has seen 5,659 students sponsored by Yayasan Peneraju Pendidikan Bumi­putera from 2012 to September 2015.

Another 39,243 bumiputra students received scholarships from the Public Service Department from 2011 to 2015, while 353,817 received study loans from Mara during the same period (2011 to 2015).

“In fact, just last November, there were 165,028 students studying in 32 UiTM campuses nationwide.

“Since the introduction of the National Transformation Prog­ramme, the participation of bumiputras with tertiary education in the workforce also increased from 27.7% to 32.3% from 2011 to 2015,” Najib said.

Economic development was not the only focus of the Government but social justice as well.

Najib also announced that Bank Rakyat would allocate RM3mil to assist 2,000 financially incapable students to further their education.

So adakah ini  bermakna penjenayah tertentu ada hak istimewa dlm segi undang?, penjenayah yg sepatutnya dihukum, tapi tidak dihukum, ini kira fair?  
Patutlah peragut2 jarang dipenjara walaupun banyak menyebabkan kematian,  siapa yg teraniaya?
