Flowers in the Attic is a 1987 psychological horror film starring Louise Fletcher, Victoria Tennant, Kristy Swanson, and Jeb Stuart Adams. It is based on the 1979 Gothic novel of the same name by V. C. Andrews. Despite the success of the book which sold 40 million copies world wide on which it is based the movie was poorly received by both critics and fans.[1]
At one point Wes Craven was scheduled to direct the film,[2] and he even completed a screenplay draft. Producers were disturbed by his approach to the incest-laden story, however, and Jeffrey Bloom ended up with writing and directing duties.
Plot This Lifetime Original Movie is based on V. C. Andrews' controversial, cult classic book. The twisted tale of four siblings who, after their father's unexpected death, are convinced by their mother to hide in the attic of their grandparents' mansion so she can reclaim the family fortune. But when her visits begin to wane, the children endure unimaginable treatment at the hands of their ruthless grandmother.

First movie yg mana? Seeds of yesterday ke? manja bc novel & dah tgk movie ni..novelnye best..movie x sebrape..patut bg je wes craven direct..disappointed versi movie, tp x sangka ade remake versi 2014...tgk trailer..lagi hampeh dari versi 1987 ni....

mungkin la kot racun tikus...
actually i pun x ingat sama ade novel tu bc sampai habis ke x..
sbb at 1 point i rs mcm sampai part budak2 tu dah tinggal dlm attic..mcm bosan pulak.. mcm mana nak buat cite tu jadi menarik kalau dh stuck dlm attic tu? 
tp suke masa budak2 yg duk kat atas tu bleh tgk/spy ballroom tempat mak die org buat event mewah, jemput org ramai dtg pakai cantik2 dancing..sedih pun yea..geram pun yea..

Aku mmg takningat cerita ni.. tp ko kata slot dunhill double.. takkan ku lupa slot itu.. dulu rebel without a cause, memphis belle and apa ntah lagi.. kwn aku mmg addicted dgn vc andrews nye novel.. aku x pernah lah baca.. layan stephan king jer |

jom kite bc latar belakang VC Andrews ni (khususnye yg berkait dgn novel ni), manja x ambik port pun sblum ni...slalunye plot dlm novel fiction ni berkait rapat dgn kehidupan penulisnye..
“Flowers in the Attic WAS based on a true story. Virginia was a young lady when my dad made arrangements to take Virginia to the University of Virginia hospital for treatment. While she was there, she developed a crush on her young doctor. He and his siblings had been locked away in the attic for over 6 years to preserve the family wealth. Obviously she cut the time back [in her novel] to be more believable. That area of the country has a lot of very wealthy people. I do not know who they were.”
Earlier this year (2014), the editor of Flowers in the Attic confirmed:
“Yes, Flowers in the Attic was based on a story she heard when she was in the hospital for a spinal operation…. Well, someone told it to her, yes. Some doctor there. So I’d guess that some aspects of it were true—at least the aspect of kids being hidden away. Whether the twins were real, the sex, the time frame, probably not. I think it was just the concept of kids hidden in the attic so the mother could inherit a fortune.”
Moreover, Andrews’ next-door neighbors were the Garmingingers (which inspired the name of the Dollengangers), and the hair-hacking incident was also based on an actual account in Andrews’ history.
Virginia was playing in the street (they were putting fresh tar down to refinish the street) and got fresh tar in her hair—her mother could not get it all out so she had to butcher her hair… and Virginia always had long, pretty hair. That hair clipping really traumatized her even back then.”
Finally, here is Andrews’ pitch letter for the book, where she outlines that it is a ‘fictionalized” version of a true story.
