Aquaman is an upcoming American superhero film based on the DC Comics character of the same name. It is intended to be the sixth installment in the DC Extended Universe (DCEU). The film is directed by James Wan, with a screenplay by Will Beall, from a story by Wan and Geoff Johns.
It stars Jason Momoa as the title character, with Amber Heard, Willem Dafoe, Temuera Morrison, Dolph Lundgren, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Patrick Wilson and Nicole Kidman in supporting roles.
The film is set to be released in the United States by Warner Bros. Pictures in RealD 3D and IMAX 3D on December 21, 2018.
Following the events of Justice League, Arthur Curry, the reluctant ruler of the underwater kingdom of Atlantis, is caught in a battle between surface dwellers that threaten his oceans and his own people, who are ready to lash out and invade the surface.

Aquaman is scheduled to be released by Warner Bros. Pictures in 2D, 3D and IMAX 3D on December 21, 2018.
Previously, it had release dates of July 27 and October 5, 2018.
According to an article on Digital Spy, the United Kingdom release date for the film has been changed, from December 21, 2018 to December 14, 2018
