'Burning Sun' Reporter states that he will not be killed but netizens fear for his life
Oh Hyuk Jin is the reporter that brought the news of corruption and other illegal activities at 'Burning Sun' into the public eye.
The reporter has now taken to his Instagram-account @arkham_er to talk about this ongoing case and it has raised a lot of questions. He made it public with the KakaoTalk photo above of Noh Seung Il, that he's receiving help from the famous reporter and former director of the K Sports Foundation. Noh Seung Il has a track record as the first journalist that uncovered corruption about Choi Soon Sil's corruption scandal amongst the richest 1% in the Korean society. His reporting on this later lead to the 20-year sentence for Choi Soon Sil.
He starts off by writing that the message is for those who are worried about him. He says that if anything will happen to him, then Noh Seung Il will bring down justice in this case and that the reporter is close to him as a brother. He also states "Don’t worry, there won’t be any staged suicides or murders that will happen to me." He then goes on thanking Noh Seung Il for being the one who has made him go all in like a mad dog. He also says sorry to drag him into the case because Noh Seung Il is going through a lot and having a hard time. He says that he didn't want this case to go so far "But the deeper I dig, the dirtier the truth is. Despite other agency’s seniors advising me to back off a little bit or watch out for myself, here I am and I wouldn’t have been able to do it without SeungIl…” He ends his message by stating that no matter what kind of danger and threats that will come their way they will continue working, and for his close friends to understand that even though he'll be unreachable they don’t need to worry.
The reactions from netizens have been that they suspect him to already have received death threats for his refusal to stop digging more into the story. According to netizens, his statement about the truth being really dirty makes the corruption seem much worse than the stories covered in the news so far. Netizens are now afraid for Oh Hyuk Jin's life and have been sending a lot of support to him for his work.
Previous Oh Hyuk Jin's post, the Burning Sun assault victim took to his Instagram-account @saint.kyo and claimed that his mother had been threatened by gangster's to reach a settlement.

President Moon Jae In addressed the recent scandals in Korea.
President Moon Jae In recently addressed the Jang Ja Yeon and Burning Sun cases and stated, “For the crimes that have exceeded the statute of limitations, I expect the truth to be revealed, and for the ones that haven’t, I ask that the law enforcement take judicial action.”
Regarding the police collusion suspicion, President Moon stated, “The prosecution and police must put the fates of their organizations on the line and take responsibility for the cases that have been brought forward.”
On the afternoon of the 18th, President Moon announced that he had been briefed on the cases by the Minister of Public Administration and Security and stated, “I expect the Minister of Public Administration and Security to work with the Minister of Justice to investigate the many suspicions that have arisen.”

President Moon explained that as a result, citizens have been expressing rage due to questions such as “What on earth took place during the past investigations?” and “What is the reason for how they conducted the investigations?” President Moon also stressed, “We cannot speak of a just society until the truth behind what happened in the privileged class comes out.”
President Moon also pointed out that in addition to the truth behind the cases themselves, the truth behind the suspicions of concealment and preferential treatment need to be exposed as well, and that the victims of the cases had to tremble in fear because they couldn’t receive protection from the law.
President Moon emphasized, “If the prosecution and police do not reveal the truth regarding the suspicions of careless and poor investigations in the past, they will never regain public confidence as an inspection agency.”
Regarding the Burning Sun scandal, President Moon stated, “This is a case that is highly suspected of receiving protection and preferential treatment by the authorities for the illegal acts such as drug use and sexual assault that took place among the privileged class. If these suspicions prove to be true, that will be very shocking.”
President Moon added, “Similar illegal acts and police collusion could have been committed in other adult entertainment establishments, so a detailed investigation must be conducted on this matter as well.“
