World mythology is full of weird and wonderful creatures, monsters formed from bizarre mixes of animal parts or simply hideous beings that torment the best-laid plans of gods, heroes and humanity. Here is a collection of materials related to some of the stranger creatures antiquity has handed down to us.
Vampires are the kind of mythical animals or beast that we would ever wish to have in existence. Nonetheless, they are one of those monsters from the folklore to modern fiction that has uncountable mentions. We all know, these creatures are said to be causing the mischievous death of people by feeding on their blood. These are some of the most popular ancient creatures in the world. However, their origin lays the foundation in Ancient Greece.PegasusThis creature is believe to be the son of Poseidon, God of the sea and the monster Medusa. Pegasus is portrayed as a beautiful winged horse, sometimes white, sometimes white with gold wings and sometimes gold all over. There are a couple of versions of the birth of Pegasus in Greek mythology. In one, he sprang from Medusa’s neck when the hero Perseus beheaded her. In another, Pegasus was born of the droplets of blood that spilled from Medusa upon her death.


Kraken According to Scandinavian mythology, the Kraken is a legendary sea monster of gigantic proportions said to dwell off the coasts of Norway and Greenland. The Kraken is usually described as a giant squid or octopus-like creature, but it has also been described as crab-like. There are various tales of the Kraken attacking and destroying ships. It is also capable of making giant whirlpools capable of bringing down ships. It is believed that the myth of the Kraken could have originated from giant squids which could grow up to 18 meters long and were rarely seen by humans.
