U r on the right path la kalau camtu..... kad kredit nyer hutang takde kan?
Roughly, gaji RM1700

EPF - 187
bagi mak - 300
makan -400
misc- 200
TOTAL = 1087-->1100

So, Su punya cashflow
1700-1100
= +600

For insurans, memandangkan Su masih single, tak yah la amik life insurans... ni pun kalau family su tak bergantung pada gaji Su..... Jadi Su amik insurans utk critical illness and medical aje..... Yg penting tgk pada jumlah coverage dia..... I rasa dgn RM100/month Su dah boleh plan yg agak bagus dah..... Cuba Su consult agen agen insurans..... kalau depa quote lebih dr 100 mesti ada yg tak kena.... kita boleh discus lain hal tu.....

Jadi 600-100=500.... Su boleh simpan dalam ASB dulu utk awal awal ni.... Emergency fund pun Su boleh letak dalam ASB..... tapi jgn sewenangwenang gunakannya lah..... then Su bolehlah start belajar camana nak main saham atau buat property investment.....

Su bolehlah tanya dan baca topic topic yg berkaitan... lagi satu lupa pulak.... Su bolehlah baca buku yg ditulis oleh Azizi Ali, millionaires r from different planet and millionaire in me.... Good luck

Boleh jugak kalau nak letak 10%.... tapi utk jangkamasa panjang, saya lebih suka guna 7%..... amik worst case scenario.....
memang betul insurance boleh dikategorikan saving jugak.... tapi it depend... sesetengah org hanya mahukan protection saja dr insurans...... personally, for me insurance bukan utk saving... but again, it depend kepada individu tersebut.... there is pros and cons.....

Bagusla adik_nazgul ada kesedaran ttg ini semua..... baru abis study la zaman paling mencabar..... but, its ok, take it slowly..... yg penting buat plan and execute+disiplin... insyallah berjaya..... And rajin rajin lah tambah knowledge sbb the best investment ialah knowledge..... Pastu kongsi lah knowledge tu bersama rakan rakan, terutamanya yg baru habis belajar mcm adik_nazgul ni.... ramai yg membuat kesilapan apabila mereka start bekerja..... termasuklah I... once dah terperangkap ngan hutang hutang, susah nak recover balik..... So, the best is, start dr awal.....

Depend la pd Su.... itu dikatakan disiplin dan ramai jugak yg tewas.... walaupun mampu utk simpan tapi tak dpt.... Su try la dulu.... start ngan sikit dulu pun takpa..... once dah dpt feel, then full swing.....

I takleh bagi komen ASW2020 ni..... tapi kalau ngan ASB, 600 sebulan dlm 30 thn(7% return), Su akan dpt at least, RM727K

Tolong bagi pendapat

Bro. Ahmad / anyone boleh tolong analyze saya punya monthly budget tak.

Age: Mid 20s
Status: Single, plan to get married in 2006
Net Salary: 1900

Savings.
   Monthly ASB Saving: 1,000
Total Savings: 1,000

Loans / Insurance.
   Car: 0
   House: 0
   Credit Card: 0
   Insurance: 0
Total Loans: 0

Bills.
   Rent: 175
   Phone: 100 (Average)
   Electricity: 15 (Average)
   Water: 10 (Average)
   Internet: 0
Total Bill: 300

Others (Estimate).
   Food: 350
   Transportation: 100
   Education: 0-50 (Depending on months)
   Leisure: 0-50 (Depending on months)
   Clothing: 0-200 (Depending on months)
   Miscellaneous: 50-200 (Depending on months)
Total Others: 600

PERSONAL TARGETS
A- My medium-term (up to 2007) targets are:
Item - Estimated Budget
1. To get married - RM20,000
2. To get a car - RM10,000
3. To buy a house - RM30,000

So you see I need to save at least RM60k to achieve my medium-term targets. Sekarang ni progress adalah dalam 40%. Kalau nak beli kereta dah boleh dah tapi I tak beli. You tahu kenapa, kan. Kalau I beli kereta, for sure I tak dapat buat monthly savings of RM1,000. Cashflow I would be reduced by something like RM700 monthly (car loan, car insurance, fuel, and repair cost taken into account) <---Betul ke? I tak pernah ada kereta so figure ni I main taruk je...So I kena lah ada like RM40k first before committing myself to buy either car or house. (Belanja wedding tu kira hangus lah sebab one-time je, tak libatkan monthly loan repayment.)

B - Long term targets.
1. Retirement.
I save dalam EPF but not more than that because I dont have enough cashflow. Once gaji I naik nanti baru I nak buat retirement planning.
2. Investment in property
Tak cukup duit maaaa, but what I do is to gain some knowledge on this subject.

PERSONAL FINANCE PHILOSOPHY
A- You see sometime I need to buy things and have some fun too.:music:. So my monthly savings for that particular month could be reduced significantly. But I dont do that too many times lah setakat traveling once in a year and perhaps buy some cool gadgets or electrical appliances like hp, fridge, hi-fi etc

B- Some say you could reduce your spending by staying with family but I have to disagree. If I were to I stay with my family that means I have to spend RM700 monthly for my car. Whereas, I rent a house nearby my workplace and spend only RM300 (Rent and related renting bills RM200 + Transportation RM100). Oklah if you take your food into account the differences of having meal cooked and eating out (yes I tak reti masak:bgrin may be something like RM150 kot....Still you could save some RM250.

C - I dont buy any insurance as advised by Azizi Ali. Furthermore, I am fairly covered by the company's insurance. Kalau dah ada anak nanti baru I ambil term insurance.

Apakah pendapat tuan / puan / cik semua...:solute:

PERSONAL FINANCE PHILOSOPHY
D. A single person can save as much as 50% of their net salary. <--Ada terbaca ni dalam Personal Money.

I am lucky can travel to my workplace with public transportation (LRT), else I have to buy a car. Dah kahwin nanti kena la beli kereta kan nak bawa anak bini jalan2. Hehe...:music:

wah.... bagus MACD ni.... plan dia dah details.... kalau U simpan 1000 sebulan dlm ASB dalam 3 thn lagi u akan ada about 40K..... 4 thn lagi 57K... 5 thn lagi about 70K.... so, u cakap u kena ada 60K, dan progress dah dlm 40%..... thats mean, dlm masa 2 thn lagi u boleh achieve u punyer medium term target which sama ngan u expected 2007...  tapi kalau nak kahwin 2006, baiklah kahwin dulu..... buat benda yg wajib dulu..... money is not everything dude..... and then, 2007 bolehlah nak beli rumah ngan kete....Actually the best u boleh buat secara parallel..... bahagikan kepda long term and medium term..... tapi benda ni akan jadi kompleks, mcm mcm kena assume..... for me, I ikut yg practical sajer.... buatlah yg  mana kita mampu..... kita kena ingat jugak umur 25 tak sama ngan 35 dia punyer feel..... pandai pandailah plan dan jgn terlalu taksub ngan duit ni..... YG PENTING KITA PLAN.... wish u all the best.....

takleh komen sbb I tak follow dia punyer perfomance..... Su sepatutnya tahu dia punyer perfomance sblm Su invest kat situ.... tapi takpa... cuba Su tanya orng PNB berapa ASW2020 bagi utk thn thn sebelum ni..... Yang I pasti ASB lebih secure dr ASW2020.....
