Sememangnya bila dah invest , ianya menjadii Tjawab Ut manager melaburkan wang tu.

kalau rasa tak cukup cerdik, tak cukup knowledge & tak berpelajaran jgnlah invest dlm unit trust. jgn harap agent sangat sebab duit yg kita invest tu duit kita. kita sendiri kena jaga duit kita. dah jadi mcm ni tak guna salahkan agent.

Ringgit 600 million loss....................NO JOKE.

Not 6 Ringgit or 6 thousand Ringgit. 600 million of retirement money disappear....loss...jadi debu. Yillekk.... FULL STOP.

Jangan salahkan agent, kata dia orang....
Hey...please read the paper lah....tak baca ka atau tak faham ka?

If you go thro' some of the Q & A with unit trust agents in other threads, you will get some of the funniest answer ever heard in investment world.

Q1 . Market is going down, what should I do with unit trust?

Answer: You buy some more unit trust.....dollar cost averaging so to speak, you will profit in the future. (ha..ha...ha...)

Q2.  When is to buy and sell unit trust?

Answer: Buy low, sell high (ini budak tadikapun tahu). But one answer I got..........yang I gelihati.........macam ni...
"Market high or low doesn't matter.....everday is investment day" (ha..ha..ha..)

P/S
You can forget about professional answer from those make-up artist cum overnight financial consultant . VAR or Blue Ocean as risk tools, OTC and exchange traded derivatives to tackle risk, to be "in" ot "out" of the market.........then financial crisis management. This is too hot for them.

sorry,,
I heve personal experience with SBB. I had invested with islamic fund.yearly return less than 5%,Agents pursuaded me to use dollar cost average every time ...

After i changed to public, Public agent used another approach, switching..and return more than 10% ..yearly..
No wonder, Public won so many awards last year..

Fund managers say maintain EPF scheme for unit trust
By Isabelle Francis

Some of the Employees Provident Fund's (EPF) appointed fund management institutions have sought clarification on a
news report that 80% of EPF contributors who invested their savings in unit trusts posted losses totalling RM600
million.

A few of the EPF-appointed fund managers told FinancialDaily they doubted the accuracy of the reported loss figure, which was attributed to their inability to invest in profitable ventures.

Until such figures could be verified, they advised the investing public not to be alarmed, even if the reported loss figure was true, as the true returns potential of unit trusts was for the long term.

All the fund managers were of the view that the EPF scheme should not be scrapped as they could give better returns than the EPF itself.

So far, under the scheme, 42 fund management institutions are allowed to manage EPF savings on behalf of contributors.

Under the scheme, EPF account holders with minimum savings of RM55,000 in Account One can invest part of the savings into fund management institutions sanctioned by the Ministry of Finance.

The fund managers agreed that investors should be educated on the risks involved before withdrawing from their EPF accounts.

A local fund manager said while investors had to understand the risks involved, a matter that could be an issue was the high cost of investing in unit trusts.

"If you invest RM100, RM6.50 is deducted as upfront fees; that itself is expensive.

"It (the report) does provide a wakeup call to the whole architecture as all the while, the EPF uses agency and the agency tend to sell products with good upfront commissions," she said.

The fund manager added that agents would have better fees from selling equity funds compared with bond funds, which were relatively more stable and carried less risks.

Nonetheless, she said while investors were advised on the risks, it was entirely up to the investors on whether they were able to take on those risks. "The higher the risks, the better the returns," she added.

"Investors should not panic. There could be some truth to the losses because of the investments in equities, but these could be due to those who entered at the peak of equities," said the fund manager.

Another fund manager said: 揑t (EPF) is a good source of funds for investors and fund managers are able to manage for investors according to their investment objectives and risk appetite.

揟he investment horizon makes EPF money suitable for unit trust investment. EPF should make investors more aware (of the risks).

"Investors should understand and know their objectives and types of funds they invested into,

Kenapa perlu kita yang monitor harga UT tu? Kalau perlu monitor might as well kita monitor harga share terus.Apa perlunya bayar fee pada fund manager?Mereka dibayar untuk pastikan pelanggan mendapat pulangan yang baik walaupun pelanggan simpan dan biar duit tu utk jangka masa panjang without monitoring and without switching fund (yang mana switch tu pun ada fee jugak)...

sorri dah lama tak online, been busy.

Cuma the BIG PROBLEM is, TIADA siapa yg dapat ramal dgn tepat TURNING point tersebut. Hanya ramalan sipi2 aja.

Selalunyer saya terpaksa tunggu berita esok hari.

Just my 6cents.

Thank you.

wassalam.
