Rep: Paris 'Regrets What Happened'

Although Paris Hilton said Thursday her DUI arrest that morning "was nothing," her rep insists she's taking it seriously.

"Paris regrets the entire event," Hilton's publicist, Elliott Mintz, tells PEOPLE. "She had never been arrested before, so to go through the police procedure was very disorienting for her. It was personally humiliating for her; she is not taking it lightly or frivolously."

Hilton told Ryan Seacrest on his radio show Thursday morning that she'd been "speeding a little bit" to an In-N-Out Burger after leaving a charity event where she'd had only one margarita.

"She had been up since early morning shooting a music video outdoors in high temperatures," says Mintz. "She went through the day without eating, attended a benefit that evening and was on her way to In-N-Out Burger when she was stopped. So on that day, only one drink could have conspired to make her driving come to the attention of the police."

Hilton, 25, was driving her Mercedes-Benz in Hollywood with Kimberly Stewart, Rod Stewart's daughter, in the passenger seat. She was pulled over at 12:31 a.m. for driving erratically, and took a Breathalyzer test showing her blood alcohol level to be 0.08, the minimum required for a DUI arrest in California.

She was handcuffed and taken to the Hollywood police station, where she was booked and her car was impounded. According to Lieut. Paul Vernon, Stewart told police "she had been drinking, so (Hilton) opted to have the car towed rather than parked there because neither of them were in a condition to drive it away."

"She said the police were extremely professional and she was extremely cooperative as well," says Mintz. "Again, she regrets the entire situation."

On Thursday night, Hilton was out again, this time wearing a black wig. "She just didn't want to create any more attention, so she thought it might be helpful to wear a semi-disguise to diffuse the situation, to not stand out," says Mintz. "And by the way, it did not work."

Paris Hilton was arrested in Hollywood early Thursday and charged with driving under the influence.

TMZ has learned LAPD officers noticed Paris driving her Mercedes McLaren SLR erratically at 12:31 AM and stopped her. They believed she exhibited signs of intoxication. We?e told they administered a field sobriety test, and Paris blew a .08. In California, driving with a .08 blood alcohol level is the minimum level for DUI.

Paris was arrested and taken to the LAPD Hollywood division, where she was booked. The officers who stopped the car did not know it was Paris Hilton until they approached the vehicle on foot. Police sources say she was cooperative. Paris had a passenger in the car ? Kimberly Stewart, Rod Stewart? daughter.

Cops took a booking photo, which an LAPD spokesperson says will not be released. An LAPD source would not confirm if Paris glammed it up for the camera, but revealed ?t doesn? look like Nick Nolte.?

Mintz told TMZ that Paris had attended a charity event earlier in the evening. He said she had a single drink ? a margarita ? the entire evening and shortly thereafter she was stopped. She was asked to take a breathalyzer test when she was stopped and cooperated. She took a second test at the station. For the record, TMZ is told Paris is 5′9″ and weighs 110 lbs.

TMZ spoke with Paris as she was driving home from jail, (VIDEO) stopping for Parliament Lights cigarettes en route. She says she ?egrets it occurred,? and adds that she has been up for 24 hours, having shot a music video all day. Paris says she had nothing to eat and no rest the entire day.

TMZ spoke with Lt. Russ Wong, the watch commander on duty at the Hollywood station. He tells TMZ Paris received no special treatment, however he acknowledges he did not hold her at the station for the standard minimum of three hours. Lt. Wong says he released her after an hour and a half because a gaggle of paparazzi appeared at the station and posed a significant traffic hazard which he needed to abate. Lt. Wong says it? SOP to release a first-time DUI suspect without bail if a responsible party is there to drive them home ? Elliot Mintz was that party.

Driving under the influence is a misdemeanor. If convicted, the defendant will not be jailed, will be given three months? probation, and will be ordered to enter an alcohol program and will have his or her license restricted for 90 days.-tmz.com

Paris Hilton and Travis Barker Might Shag





It looks like Travis Barker and Paris Hilton could be onto each other. It appears they might have kissed behind her gate.

After meeting just the week before at a nightclub, the pair were spotted
separately sneaking into a Los Angeles hotel on Monday (09.04.06).

The blonde socialite and the newly single musician - who only split from his
wife two months ago - first hooked up at the city's Pure Nightclub.

A witness told Britain's The Sun newspaper: "Before long they were making
out on one of the VIP beds. They were groping and grinding with their
clothes on.

"All her friends and her sister Nicky were there looking stunned."

But she said that she wasn't hanging out with Travis but some other dude that looked like him.

Paris Hilton left Hyde nightclub in Hollywood at 2:30 AM the night after being arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol. She donned a dark wig and her publicist Eliot Mintz drove her home (Is chauffeur in his contract?). You would think that the best PR move would be to stay home but since this is Paris, she needs to capitalize on any and all media attention, good or bad.

Paris isn't scared off by a little tussle. Last night Paris and posse, including none other than Travis Barker himself, hit up both Tangerine and Social House in Vegas. Brandon Davis looked to be in excellent form, sporting his trademark oil sheen and groping the Hiltons on the dance floor. DJ AM was in tow as well, so perhaps Shanna can get a Nicole Richie back-up next time? Do I smell an impending girl gang rivalry? Well, a girl can dream.

Just one day after getting punched in the face by Shanna Moakler at Hyde, Paris Hilton, always the trooper, was able to pull herself together and go shopping. She is quite a testament to the human spirit. Despite that circle trying to say otherwise, there seems to be no marks on Paris' face following the brawl. Shanna must hit like a girl.
