Asean Basketball League (ABL)

The ASEAN Basketball League is the first international Professional basketball league in South-East Asia. A joint effort by Tune Sports and E-Live, ABL will provide a platform to a population of 600 million people from all over ASEAN who are constantly demanding new forms of entertainment.

Launched on 19 January 2009, the ASEAN Basketball League, chaired by Dato’ Sri Tony Fernandes, with support from the South East Asian Basketball Association (SEABA) and the International Basketball Federation (FIBA), will see participation of teams from Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore and Thailand.

The league, which will be played between October 2009 and February 2010, will initially be made up of 6 teams which are owned and operated by private owners, and will compete in a home and away league format, with knockout stages leading up to the finals which will be held in Malaysia.

Westports Kuala Lumpur Dragons (Malaysia)

The Westports Kuala Lumpur Dragons, (formerly known as Kuala Lumpur Dragons), is a professional basketball team based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia that is seeing action in the newly formed international basketball league in Southeast Asia, the Asean Basketball League. Also known as the KL Westport Dragons, they play their home games in the Maba Stadium located in Kuala Lumpur.

Philippine Patriots (Philippine)

The Philippine Patriots are a professional basketball team currently seeing action in the ASEAN Basketball League. The Philippines's representative team to the first ASEAN Basketball League, it is co-owned by Mikee Romero of Harbour Centre fame and businessman Tony Boy Cojuangco. The team is currently coached by Louie Alas of the Letran Knights.

The Patriots play their home games at the Ynares Sports Arena in Kapitolyo, Pasig City. In their maiden campaign, they held a few games at and the Filoil Flying V Arena in Pinaglabanan, San Juan City. Both are located in Metro Manila.

Satria Muda BritAma Jakarta (Indonesia)

Satria Muda BritAma Jakarta is an Indonesian basketball team seeing action in the National Basketball League. Based in the Indonesian capital of Jakarta, it is Indonesia's representative team to the inaugural Asean Basketball League. Affectionately called " SM BritAma " or " SMB " (not to be confused with another popular basketball team within the Asean region, the Philippines' San Miguel Beermen which is also known as " SMB ") by its fans, the team plays their home games at The BritAma Arena in Kelapa Gading, Jakarta Utara.

Singapore Slingers (Singapore)

The Singapore Slingers are an Asian basketball team that formerly competed in the Australian National Basketball League. They were the first - and so far the only - Asia-based club to compete in the NBL when they joined at the start of the 2006/07 season. The Slingers play their home games at the Singapore Indoor Stadium (SIS).

In 2008, the club left the NBL and currently compete in the " Singapore Challenge Series ". In this series the Slingers compete against a range of teams from the Philippines, China, Indonesia, India and Australia.

The Slingers are one of the inaugural teams that began competition in the ASEAN Basketball League in October, 2009.

Chang Thailand Slammers (Thailand)

The Brunei Barracudas, also known as Team Barracudas (official name: Brunei Barracudas BC) is a professional basketball team based in Brunei Darussalam which is seeing action in the newly formed international basketball league in Southeast Asia, the Asean Basketball League. They play their home games at the Brunei Indoor Stadium (called Barracudas Reef by supporters) in the Bruneian capital of Bandar Seri Begawan.
