More women turning to mediums to solve marital problems
IPOH: In desperation, more women are turning to mediums to solve their marital problems, said MCA Religious Affairs Bureau Committee chairman Datuk Tan Chai Ho.
In the last five months, the Federation of Taoist Associations Malaysia received over 20 complaints in the Klang Valley alone.

Another common trick used by the mediums was to ask a woman to strip and take a ?lower bath? in front of him.
Tan pointed out that if a devotee believed such things, she should be taking the floral water home to cleanse herself.
He advised people not to follow any temple official or medium to an isolated room alone.
? genuine medium or temple master would not issue threats about ill omen befalling a devotee or make unreasonable demands like huge sums of money or sex,? he added.
To raise public awareness on ?onmen mediums?, MCA and the federation have published 10,000 booklets featuring cartoons and advice on the warning signs to look out for.
He urged those who feel they have been victimised to contact the federation. |

GHOSTS have sex. This is the claim of Syed Abdullah Alattas, founder and chief investigator of Seekers Malaysia.
"We are doing research to find out their habits, behaviour, how they have sex and such," he said.
Syed Abdullah said some texts on religion also mentioned naughty and randy ghosts.
Dressed in a red T-shirt, a black leather vest and leather gloves and looking more like a well-heeled Mat Rempit rather than a ghost-buster, he bubbled with enthusiasm when discussing apparitions.
"The ghost-busting business is not cheap," he said, proudly displaying a high-tech sound detector which had cost him RM5,000.
"This can detect sounds from kilometres away."
On his ghostly experiences, he said: "Some of it is so weird that I cannot tell you about it. It might also be dangerous for me." He did not elaborate.
A "weird phenomenon", he said, was when one hears sounds never heard before or when one gets extremely cold for a second or two for no apparent reason or when one smells something never smelt before.
"You can feel it. Just because you cannot see it, doesn? mean a ghost is not there."
He said he had been interested in ghosts from the age of eight when his mother had read him ghost stories.
Syed Abdullah, who was a business adviser before becoming a full- fledged ghost-buster, said ghost-busting was 40 per cent scientific and 60 per cent spiritual.
He and his team have also penned a book entitled The 33 Types of Ghosts, which will be published next month. |

I think there is a misunderstanding on muslims here. For you info every muslim has to take quran seriously...or mighty serious maybe 1000%, but the level of misunderstanding and misguidance among muslims that lead to fanaticm or diverted path. Moderate muslim doesnt mean moderate Islam, and there is no such thing as moderate Islam. I would prefer to term "ignorance muslims" rather than moderate since the term "moderate muslims" will give a wrong understanding that Islam itself is moderate..but it is not. In my opinion, i would rather say "fanatic and ignorance muslims" would create more chaos on earth rather than true muslims since they easily can become the prey of evils |

somebody who claimed that he doesnt practise Islam, wants to teach the moslem on moderate islam... err, unlike to christianity, where god's order can just be thrown away, there's nothing about moderate islam.... like i say before, no one can claim that he is practising 30% of islam (or any percentage) so that he can be called moderate, because like the women who are pregnant, either she can be pregrant or she is not pregnant, there's never in human history, someone claim that she has a moderate pregnant. |

Caught for Khalwat during Ramadan

Kota Kinabalu: Officers from the State Islamic Affairs Department (Jheains) nabbed two couples for committing khalwat (close proximity) at a budget hotel in Inanam, near here, Thursday.
The couples were caught during an "Operasi Maksiat Ramadan" from 9am to 5.30pm in conjunction with the fasting month.
Abdul Imam Basirun, who led the operation, said the couples aged between 18 and 34 failed to produce documents to state they were married.
"We went to the hotel and stumbled onto the couples committing khalwat and immediately took action against them.
"We did not impose any action against an 18-year-old SPM school leaver because she was a non-Muslim but we booked her boyfriend who is a Muslim in his 30s.
"The second involved a Muslim couple - a 29-year-old single woman and a 34-year-old married man," he said to Daily Express after conducting the operation.
The Criminal Syariah Law defines close proximity as an instance when a man and a woman who are not mahram (husband and wife) are found together in a closed and isolated place which can arouse suspicion.
It also defines close proximity as when a man and two women or the other way around are in a secluded place, which can give rise to suspicion, when people see them.
Abdul Imam said the three offenders would be charged under Section 84 of the State Syariah Criminal Offences Enactment 1995. If convicted, he said each could be fined up to RM2,000 or jailed up to one year, or both.
In the same operation, he said, they also picked up three Muslim men aged 19 to 33 for consuming food and drinks inside a restaurant in Kolombong.
Abdul Imam said the three offenders tried to justify their act by giving reasons of health for eating. However, he said, such excuses would not be entertained given that they were eating and drinking in public.
Even if not fasting, he stressed that they must not eat and drink in public places so as to show respect for the month of Ramadan and to abide by the State Syariah Law.
He said the restaurant owner, who is a 48-year-old Indian Muslim, was also booked for selling food to the two Muslim men in the premises.
According to him, Muslim restaurant owners are allowed to operate their business but that they must not sell food to Muslims, as it is an offence to do so under the State Criminal Syariah Enactment 1995.
"Muslims found eating and drinking in public places and Muslim restaurant operators selling food to Muslims during the fasting month are violating Section 58 of the same enactment.
"If convicted, each is liable to pay a fine of up to RM1,000 or maximum six months' jail or both, upon conviction. Repeating each offence for the second time would cost them up to RM2,000 in fines or maximum jail of one year or both, upon conviction," Abdul Imam said.
He said all the offenders, except two Muslim men aged 19 and 23, were brought to the Jheains office for further action.
The other two men, he said, were let off after being given advice, as they were believed to have consumed drinks at a Chinese restaurant in Kolombong, here, the same day. |
