Tolls and Charges

Motorists can pay toll using cash in Malaysian Ringgit (RM) currency. Singaporean currency is also accepted but on a one-for-one basis (e.g pay S$1.20 for RM$1.20 toll). Alternatively, you can use the 'Touch 'n Go' card to pay toll. 'Touch 'n Go' is a prepaid smartcard. You can buy this card at Linkedua's Tanjong Kupang, Lima Kedai or Perling toll plaza. Just fill a simple form and pay.  The card can also be purchased at Customer Service Centers at designated toll plazas (for full list please click on the link www.plus.com.my)

Rest and Service Area
Second Link Rest & Service Areas (RSA) are the perfect place to take a break from your driving. Replete with facilities, and above all, clean, the RSAs provide you with many food and drink outlets, as well as friendly, relaxed eating areas. You can also find a Muslim prayer room, toilets, showers, a playground for the children, petrol stations and public phones. All for your convenience and comfort.

The RSAs are located just before the Tanjong Kupang toll plaza southbound, and just 5 minutes before the bridge northbound.

Quick, Affordable Tolls.
We provide many toll lanes manned by toll collectors who are trained to provide you courteous service, and speed you quickly on your way. You can pay tolls either with cash, or your pre-paid ?ouch ? Go? Card for even more convenience. Plus, our toll charges are affordable, making crossing between Singapore and Malaysia an inexpensive journey.

If paying by cash, please note that we accept both Malaysian Ringgit and Singapore Dollars, but both are on a one-for-one basis. At the Toll Plazas, S$1.00 is equal to RM1.00, so we suggest you keep some Malaysian Ringgit handy.

?ouch ? Go? Cards are available at our Perling Toll Plaza and our Tanjong Kupang Toll Plaza.

Landscaping
In our efforts to make your journey that much more enjoyable, we have planted countless tropical trees of various species along the expressways. Flowering shrubs and bushes are planted at the interchanges, rest and service areas and road shoulders to add colour to the scenery. Driving along the Second Link is indeed a pleasant and enjoyable experience.

How to get to the Second Link - from Johor

From Johor Bahru City Centre
Johor Bahru city is connected to the Second Link by a network of roads. To get on the Second Link from Johor Bahru city centre, drive northwards along Jalan Tun Abdul Razak. Then, at the Jalan Tasik traffic lights, drive straight on into Jalan Larkin which joins up with the Skudai Highway.

After passing Tampoi, you will come to an intersection. Here, take the left turn into Jalan Perling. Drive straight on, passing several traffic lights until you reach the Perling toll plaza, the entry point to the Second Link from Johor Bahru city. Drive straight on until the Pulai interchange. From here you can turn left to take the Second Link Bridge to Singapore or turn northwards to Senai or Kuala Lumpur.

On leaving the Senai Airport, a short journey of approximately 5 minutes is all it takes for you to get on the Second Link expressway.

From the Senai Airport exit, follow the roundabout and take the second left turning. You will pass a Petronas petrol station and the Senai Industrial Area. Follow the road until you reach a junction. At the junction, drive past the traffic lights and turn right. To enter the Second Link expressway, drive straight on. You will reach the Lima Kedai toll plaza after 10 minutes. Then proceed to the Tanjung Kupang toll plaza and then the Customs, Immigration and Quarantine checkpoints. There are clear signboards all along the expressway.

Safety Tips

Drinking and Driving
Alcohol impairs judgement. Drinking under the influence of alcohol is a serious offence and can result in accidents. If you must drink, don't drive.
Emergency Lane
Do not stop in the Emergency Lane provided along the expressway unless absolutely necessary. If you are experiencing a problem while driving that does not make it necessary to stop immediately, please drive on to the nearest toll plaza or rest & service area where it is safe to park your vehicle before attending to the problem. If you have to stop in the Emergency Lane, do turn on the hazard lights, get out of your vehicle and try to stay behind the guardrail.

Emergency Telephones
In case of an emergency or vehicle breakdown, walk to the nearest Emergency Telephone and call our traffic control centre for assistance. Emergency Telephones are placed every 2 km intervals along the expressway.

Handphones
If you must talk on your handphone, be sure to use a hands-free kit. Many accidents occur when drivers fail to keep both hands on the wheels in an emergency situation.

Motorcycle Shelter
Bikers travelling on the expressway are advised not to stop in the emergency lane under bridges during rainstorms. Look for the motorcycle shelters provided by Linkedua instead and take cover behind the safety of a guardrail.

Rest when tired and sleepy
One major cause of accidents on expressways is driver fatigue. When travelling on the expressway, make full use of the facilities provided in the form of rest & service areas and toll plazas. Park your vehicle and have quick nap or have some coffee. Never drive while you are sleepy.

PLUSRonda
This is a free-of-charge 24-hour service to assist motorists travelling on the Second Link. PlusRonda also attends to accidents and deals with general traffic management on the Expressway.

Speed Limit
Speeding is one major cause of accidents. Observe the speed limit at all times.

Keep left
Keep left unless you are overtaking.

Keep enough distance from the vehicle ahead
Failure to brake in time is a major cause of accidents. Always keep a safe distance between your vehicle and the one in front, especially during rain and in wet road conditions.

Accidents
If you meet with an accident;

stay calm.

avoid getting involved in an argument.

note details of the other party's vehicle (type, model, registration number, name of driver, IC no, etc)

Note the other party's insurance company.

Note the damages/injuries.

Call Linkedua's traffic control centre on 07-2788000 or use the emergency telephone by the expressway.

lodge a police report within 24 hours.

notify your insurer as soon as possible.

Customs, Immigration and Quarantine (CIQ) Complex

The CIQ Complex is also known as Kompleks Sultan Abu Bakar (KSAB). This newly built complex is situated approximately 2.6 km from the bridge landing area and occupies a vast area of 54 hectares. The KSAB houses many government departments including the Customs, Immigration, Quarantine and Police Departments. At the checkpoints, there are 24 immigration lanes for light vehicles (cars) and 10 lanes for motocycles to ensure fast clearance of people and goods. Passage through the checkpoints is comfortable and hassle-free.

Safer, Quicker, More Convenient

Imagine cutting up to thirty minutes of commuting time. This is the benefit New Pantai Highway offers motorist using Jalan Subang Utama, Jalan Klang Lama or Jalan Pantai Dalam and heading toward Kuala Lumpur as their final destination (or vice-versa).

Operational since 2nd April 2004, the intra-urban 19.6 kilometre-long New Pantai Highway is expected to significantly alleviate traffic congestion along Federal Highway Route II caused by thousands of vehicles plying the route every day.

New Pantai Highway has three links:

an east-west dual 3-lane carriageway link between Subang Jaya and the exiting Kuala Lumpur - Seremban Highway,

a dual 3-lane carriageway link between the Federal Highway Route II at Petaling Jaya Selatan and the junction of Taman Maju Jaya, and,

a dual 2-lane carriageway link between Pantai Dalam and Jalan Bangsar.

With these links, motorists traveling to and from Subang Jaya and Kuala Lumpur city centre via Jalan Bangsar will find New Pantai Highway the more convenient alternative.
