yup betui alfa kat hujung cermin belakang, yang rx 8 ni pintu belakang..mcm tingkap rumah kampung yang tolak keluar dua2 daun tuh...tak silap aku pintu depan dah bukak sikit baru yang belakang boleh tolak keluar...

V-6 ENGINE




A V6 engine is a V engine with six cylinders. It is the second most common engine configuration in modern cars after the inline four; it shares with that engine a compactness well suited to the popular front-wheel drive layout, and is becoming more common as car weights increase.

The first V6 was introduced by Lancia in 1950 with the Lancia Aurelia. Other manufacturers took note and soon other V6 engines were in use. In 1959, GMC introduced a heavy duty 305 cubic inch (5 liter 60-degree V6 for use in their pickup trucks and Suburbans, an engine design that was later enlarged to 478 cubic inches (7.8 liters) for heavy truck and bus use.

The design really took off after the 1962 introduction of the Buick Special, which offered a 90 degree V6 with an uneven firing order that shared some parts commonality with a small Buick V8 of the period. Though the Buick Special was not a spectacular success, it was the first instance of a mass-produced V6 engine designed specifically for passenger automobiles. In 1983 Nissan produced Japan's first V6 engine with the VG series.

Modern V6 engines commonly range in displacement from 2.5 L to 4.0 L, though larger and smaller examples have been produced.

v-ANGLES

The ideal cylinder bank angle for a V6 is 60 degrees, which design tends to minimize vibration and encourage cancellation of reciprocating forces. The most common 60 degree V6s were built by General Motors (the heavy duty commercial models, as well as a design used in many GM front wheel drive cars), Ford European subsidiaries : Essex V6, Cologne V6 and the more recent Duratec V6. The Alfa-Romeo V6 is also common.

Ada satu lagi jenis engine - engine flat 4. Piston dia horizontal. Alfa biasanya pakai. Sesiapa ada full info, tolong paste. Aku maleh nak search....

Satu jer aku perasan engine jenis nie - kalau banjir alamat dia la paling dulu mampus sebab cylinder head dia rendah...

aha..betul la 2 pintu tu sebab RX8 nih di panggil sports coupe (so 2 pintu ler)..cuma belakang tuh..dia panggil "Free-style doors" for easy passenger access..tapi dia tak di katogeri kan sebagai pintu walau pon leh bukak...Thanks..

ler.. pemerhatian ko tak tajam lar tu.. masa memula kete nie kuar pong haku tau belakang ader pintu.. pintu tu utk orang belakang masuk dalam, sebab seat depan dier nieh bukan jenis yang rebah-rebah cam style proton satria tu.

Boxer engines of up to eight cylinders have proved highly successful in both automobiles and motorcycles, and continue to be popular for light aircraft engines.

One benefit of using a boxer engine versus a V engine is that the design provides good balance because each piston's momentum is counterbalanced by the corresponding piston movement of the opposite side. These engines can run very smoothly and free of vibrations with a four-stroke cycle, regardless of number of cylinders, and do not require a balance shaft or counterweights on the crankshaft to balance the weight of the reciprocating parts which are required in other engine configurations. A flat engine is an internal combustion engine with its pistons parallel to the ground. It can be an inline engine canted 90 degrees from straight up, and also can be a boxing engine sometimes referred to as a boxermotor, in which the cylinders are arranged in two banks on either side of a single crankshaft so that the motion of all the pistons is in a single plane.

In 1896, Karl Benz patented his design for the first internal combustion engine with horizontally opposed pistons. There are two main types of these engines:

The boxer engine, also known as a horizontally opposed engine, in which the corresponding pistons reach top dead centre simultaneously, thus balancing each other with respect to momentum. Flat engines with four or fewer cylinders are most commonly boxer engines. They should not be confused with opposed piston engines which use a very different design.

Engine F1 stroke pendek sebab mahu RPM tinggi. Stroke pendek torque akan rendah. Torque kereta F1 tak perlu tinggi-tinggi sebab dia ringan. Torque banyak sgt, tanpa control - akan result in unneccesary wheel spin.  Contrast with diesel engine for commersial vehicle. Torque tinggi gila. So, RPM mentakat 3000. Yg penting mesti mahu boleh bawak beban berat.

Aku dengar engine boxer nie kalau nak tukar timing belt mahu makan masa 2-3 hari sebab the whole engine kena bawak keluar. Aku ada kawan pakai Alfa. Dia cakap mcm tu.
