BoA Releases Live Concert DVD
2008-10-15




Singer BoA will release a DVD of her live concert tour in Japan on October 15. The DVD, which was released a month earlier in Japan in September, features live footage from her June 19 concert held at the Tokyo International Forum. This year, BoA held a series of concerts in 14 major cities in Japan including Nagoya, Nigata, Hiroshima, Osaka, Kobe, Sendai and Fukuoka.

The DVD features 27 of BoA's biggest hits, including her debut song "IDeace B" as well as "Kissing You" and "Sparkling." Fans can also check out behind-the-scenes images of BoA.

Variety Hails BoA as Asia's Top Female Pop Artist

The American entertainment magazine Variety reported in its latest edition that Korean pop artist BoA made her debut in the United States. In its October 16th edition, Variety reported that BoA, one of Asia's most popular pop singers, released her first U.S. single "Eat You Up" in English on October 21.

The magazine added that BoA's management agency AM Entertainment has set up its U.S. branch and that BoA's album will be distributed by Fontana. The magazine said BoA was fluent in Korean and Japanese and that she has sold millions of albums in both countries since her debut.

Quoting an SM Entertainment official, the magazine said BoA's U.S. single targets the American mainstream, not just Korean-Americans and Asian-Americans. It also added that BoA will soon launch a U.S. and world tour.

BoA's US Debut Off to Solid Start

BoA made her US debut with the digital single "Eat You Up," garnering a positive response from the online community.

At 3 a.m. on October 22nd, "Eat You Up" ranked third on the iTunes chart for "Top Dance Songs," tenth on Amazon's "Hot New Release in MP3 Downloads" and 21st on their "Today's Top MP3 Songs" chart. Consumers gave "Eat You Up" a five-star review on the Amazon website.

According to BoA's agents at SM Entertainment, US netizens commented that her song was addictive and makes people want to dance.

Even Variety, a US entertainment magazine, wrote an article about BoA and her debut, referring to her as "one of the best female artists in Asia."

"Eat You Up" was released online in Korea and Japan on October 22nd. SM Entertainment is planning on releasing the digital single to approximately 30 countries through 300 online sites.

BoA's debut single album will be available in November.

BoA to Perform 'Eat You Up' on 'YouTube Live' Event

Popular female recording artist BoA, who recently made her U.S. debut, will make her appearance in a 'YouTube Live' event organized by YouTube. The event is a large-scale live relay concert that will take place in San Francisco, United States and in Tokyo, Japan from 9:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. on November 23. World-renowned artists will take part in the event by performing live, and YouTube users will also participate in the special event.

Popular artists including Akon, Will.I.AM from the Black Eyed Peas, and Esmee Denters will perform in the first part of the concert that will take place in San Francisco from 9:00 a.m. to noon. The second part of the concert, which will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in Tokyo, will feature BoA, Blue Man Group and Kreva.

BoA will open up the Japan concert by performing her U.S. debut number "Eat You Up."
