SMALL WONDER: Freshwater jellyfish, one of the smallest known jellyfish in the world, will be exhibited at the Sarawak Museum for six months beginning tomorrow. Known by its scientific name Craspedacusta, this is the first record of the species in Malaysia. Its adult is less than 8mm in diameter. The specimen was collected by the Sarawak Museum on Nov 8 in a small outdoor cement pool at the Chung Hua Primary School in Sri Aman. Teacher Yap Kuet Kee first collected the specimen from a river in Sri Aman. 揥e are trying to determine if this specimen is new to science, |
