hi sunshine -
there's absolutely no reason at all to be worried regarding
finishing up degree in 7 years -

fyi - one of my sister's student -
studied in oversea - and can't finish his study
and after 10 years... YUP 10 years  he got his BA
in university in malaysia -

he has some health problem.. and not well... and few times he
had to stop going to school to seek medical treatment

regardless what condition and reasons -
7 years 10 years.. - as long as you finish it
and get the degree and passed your exams -  you earn it -

and to get the job - it is not depend on HOW LONG it takes
you to get the cert -  it is how qualified are you
and your skills.. and what can you contribute to the firm -

because at the end of the day (irritating phrase lol)
--- the degree is just a piece of paper -
that you earn to get you to where you are... but what you 'do' in your
workplace  has no reflect with your degree -

I'm glad i'm a teacher

i would rather be a teacher than a salesman..
though a salesman makes a lot of money than i do, i would not change my places with him.
for he sells washing machines and fountain pens and chairs or other material things but i sell ideas.

i would rather be a teacher than a stenographer..
even though a stenographer may have a mahogany desk in the magnificent office of some great chief of industry.
for she helps write letters, but i help write careers..
she touches, keys but i touch lives.

i would rather be a teacher than an architect,
satisfactory as the program of large construction might be..
for an architect helps build edifices, but i help build character.
edifices endure for a time, but character endures throughout eternity.

i would rather be a teacher than an artist..
fascinating as that subject might be in its wealth of beauty, colour, and symmetry.
for an artist paints pictures on canvas, but i make impressions on the tablets of the soul.

i would rather be a teacher than a bookkeeper..
for he balances accounts, but i helps balances lives.

i would rather be a teacher than a great business executive..
for he works with facts and figures and lifeless coins, but i work with minds that open and futures that unfold and principles that grow.

i would rather be a teacher than an accomplished musician..
for musician plays on violin strings and piano strings, but i play on the heartstrings.

i would rather be a teacher than an orator..
for an orator stirs an adult to applaud and admiration, but i stir little children to right choosing and noble thinking.

i would rather be a teacher than a decorator..
for he deals with perspective and harmony and line in buildings and rooms, but i deal with perspective and harmony and line in temples not made with hands.

i would rather be a teacher than a potter..
for he shapes vessels of clay, but i shape destinies.

i would rather be a teacher than an interpreter..
for he interprets words and ideas, but i interpret motives and purposes and endeavors.

i would rather be a teacher than an archaeologist..
for he unearths buried treasure, but i unearth talent.

i would rather be a teacher than an explorer..
for he explores uncharted seas, but i explore uncharted minds, and discover treasure islands and continents of untold possibilities.

i would rather be a teacher than a statesman..
for he deals with finished citizens, but i deal with future citizens.

i would rather be a teacher than a scientist..
for though he studies the wonders of the rocks, and the beauty of the stars, and the miracles of the plants, and the glory of the skies,
i deal with that which is still more miraculous in the throbbing human hearts, unfolding human lives, and the formation of lifetime characters.
===============================================

who ever we are...we should be proud of ourselves..

Hi dex.. and everyone.  Long time never been here. Busy with my daily routine.  My daughter start school this year and my second son turn to one year old and become more naughty.

Today I discover one interesting and funny article in The Star newspaper and would like to share with all of you.

Our unique fusion languageBy PEGGY TAN
WHEN we travel, we meet various kinds of people of different cultures. But we can often recognise a Malaysian quite easily by their Manglish! Who else would say, 揫i]Aiyoh! So hot lah! The summer here is worse than Penang抯 heat lah!

hi oko -

- even though is more emphatic than although or though
- we may use it to emphasize the surprising contrast between two facts.

- examples: -

He likes playing baseball, (although)though he detest to watch it on TV.

Even though they know they are going to lose the war, they continue fighting.

- hope it helps -
