1. i thought by calling you mac - wouldremind you of macgyver - and we knew whom that is, eh --- very verymanly person to say the least - so, still want me to call you sayangand luv? -

2. it sounded racist - would be the correct one - you said ' i read the above sentence - read = past tense' therefore
sounded is correct - (past tense too)

3. a good sentence -

4. glad that you'll get a hanky despite  haven't use hanky these days -

*can't wait for you to use it - eh -

dexa Post at 28-12-2009 21:54

Teacher dear.

1. Forgive me, but I find it a bit difficult to read your sentences in that Segoe Print font...But no matter what, I must continue to stay focus and learn the lesson, teacher.

2. I do remember whom MacGuyver was because I had tried several times to emulate his tricks. Unforetunately, my success rate is much much lower. I have always wanted to throw away my keys, forget about it and still be able to get into my house.

3. You can call me MACD teacher. That's better than MAC....But I still don't mind if any lady want to call me sayang or luv...

4. Only if you insist my dear teacher because using a hanky is so yesterday.....

Do correct me if you found any grammatical errors.

Thank you, teacher....;)

Teacher dear.

1. Forgive me, but I find it a bit difficult to read your sentences in that Segoe Print font...But no matter what, I must continue to stay focus and learn the lesson, teacher.

ah.. the font is just for eksyen eksyen only.... - good that you'll continue to stay focus --  the analogy is just like when you are at the beach and you see nice girl with bikini... you wanna go for surfing... - stay focus and just keep surfing...   so to speak, eh

2. I do remember whom MacGuyver was because I had tried several times to emulate his tricks. Unforetunately, my success rate is much much lower. I have always wanted to throw away my keys, forget about it and still be able to get into my house.

...well try the simple one first - for instant-- jump 30 meters off the cliff -- and swim up; if you can do that.. you can do anything, i reckon

3. You can call me MACD teacher. That's better than MAC....But I still don't mind if any lady want to call me sayang or luv...

i really don't mind to call you MACD except that - if i type macd or call you macd it reminds me of MACDLT - a type of boogers in McDonald's... that we forbid to eat (macdonald's lettuce, bacon and tomatoes) - but since you insist - i shall call you macd then - though i'm sure lot of ladies out there will call you sayang and luv and stuff like that... gs..

4. Only if you insist my dear teacher because using a hanky is so yesterday.....

well.....yeah i insist cuz using tissue is just sooooo.... sooo like kambeng... so we just stick to hanky panky eh

Do correct me if you found any grammatical errors.

find - is more suitable -

Thank you, teacher...

Teacher dear,

Hope it is not too late to wish you a Happy New Year!
Also wish that you will become wiser, happier, and wealthier this year.

Meanwhile, I hope to continue learning English from you...{:1_120:}

ah.. the font is just for eksyen eksyenonly.... - good that you'll continue to stay focus --  the analogy isjust like when you are at the beach and you see nice girl withbikini... you wanna go for surfing... - stay focus and just keepsurfing...   so to speak, eh

Oh eksyen only....Anyway, that nice girl doesn't even have to wear bikini to get my attention. Hehe.{:1_137:}

Joke aside, which one is correct:

- Nice girl with bikini, or
- Nice girl in bikini?

...well try the simple one first - for instant-- jump 30 meters off thecliff -- and swim up; if you can do that.. you can do anything, ireckon

Sounds like a good idea. If I succeed, I would earn a bragging right.
If I don't, I would have young nurses treating me nicely for a good few months.
Any recommendation for such hospital? {:1_151:}

i really don't mind to call you MACD exceptthat - if i type macd or call you macd it reminds me of MACDLT - a typeof boogers in McDonald's... that we forbid to eat (macdonald's lettuce, bacon and tomatoes) - but since you insist - i shall call you macd then- though i'm sure lot of ladies out there will call you sayang and luvand stuff like that... gs..

I don't remember having such burger in the menu here. Are you sure you are in KL and not in Louyang, China?{:1_137:}

well.....yeah i insist cuz using tissue is just sooooo.... sooo like kambeng... so we just stick to hanky panky eh

Can you tell me what does hanky-panky means? Is it good for me?{:1_137:}

find - is more suitable -

So, the correct sentence would be:
Do correct me if you find any grammatical errors.

Can you tell me why I cannot use found in above sentence?

That's all.

Thank you, teacher.

how do u pronounce flour?
baby_pingu Post at 8-1-2010 02:16

in uk - they will pronounce it : FLAR
in canada or united states - they will pronounce it : FLOWER

you just have to understand the context of the sentence as not to confused
with 'flower' as roses, tulip  and 'flour' as something you use to cook -

both are correct -

hope it helps -

..and i wish you a Happy New Year, too -
- thanks for the well wishes - happier maybe... but wiser... well - let's hope so -
re: wealthier - insya'allah...

Oh eksyen only....Anyway, that nice girl doesn't even have to wear bikini to get my attention. Hehe.

Joke aside, which one is correct:
- Nice girl with bikini, or

girl in bikini is better / correct although girl with bikini is not wrong to use as well -

Sounds like a good idea. If I succeed, I would earn a bragging right.
If I don't, I would have young nurses treating me nicely for a good few months.
Any recommendation for such hospital?

i'm sure you didn't have to earn the bragging right.. just cuz you succeeded in jumping 30m off cliff -
without jump off the cliff - you can brag too, eh...  gs -
well... you can get young nurses IN bikini perhaps to treat you for few months -
that you won't get in any hospital, but... no worries - you can hire them privately no doubt
(home care)

I don't remember having such burger in the menu here. Are you sure you are in KL and not in Louyang, China?

you can get McDLT in canada - and united states when you go there someday -
not sure if china carries the same menu, though - in KL, you can try beef bacon and make the
boogers yourself - i'm sure a chef like ya can do that no biggie

Can you tell me what does hanky-panky means? Is it good for me?

well... hanky is handkerchief... and the 'panky' one is only a spice i add-up to make
it sound.... exciting and stuff -
btw - of course hanky-panky is good for ya - it puts hair on your chest -

So, the correct sentence would be:
Do correct me if you find any grammatical errors.
Can you tell me why I cannot use found in above sentence?

you can write:
Would you correct me if you found any grammatical errors?
.. you can use 'found' in that sentence -
but when you use 'do' we are still using present tense - and find is
the correct verb to use -

first of all - i would appreciate if you try not to write in too much pretentious 'slang' such as oso, wan, can ah -

secondly - sure you can join in - anybody can -

the difference:
asked :  simple past tense
had asked : past perfect tense
have/has asked : present perfect tense

the difference:
will going to and will be going to -
depends when you are using them -

-sometimes will and be going to are interchangeable...
in other words, it makes virtually no difference which one you use..
at other times, however, the difference is significant.
-- for example, when requesting a favor, don't use be going to.

-when using  will  in speech, using a contraction is very common...
--for example,
I will give you a hand.
*I will give you a hand = I will help you

hope it helps -

...'have' has several meanings -
- when you use 'have' to mean posses or own, you don't use the continuous (having) form -
.. - that's why 'I am having a pen' is incorrect

-- it is the same for all the tenses when you use 'have' to show that you own something :
for example -  I have a car/I had a car/ I have had a car and so on so forth.. -

- hope it helps -

dexa, thanks a lot. If im not mistaken, i found something on the net few month ago discussing this topic. The writer says that we cannot use 'ing' words (sorry im using this term coz i dont really know the correct term :-) ) if the actions is continuous. Ok, i give an example as below :

'I am looking for something to eat' - it is correct if the time frame is not to long, 1 or 2 minutes
'I looks something to eat' - if the actions is more than 1 days. Reason? We wouldn't continuously doing the said action.

Please correct me if im wrong..Thank you

hi aks - de nada -

'ing' usually we refer to as 'gerund' -

i never heard about the time frame 1 or 2 minutes - usually we can tell by the sentence itself or by the conversation that takes place -

i am looking for something to eat --> if someone is asking you at that moment -- what are you doing etc -
btw - 'i looks something to eat' is wrong grammar
it should be  look  (i is plural - although it is one person - therefore verb comes after I is without 's')
and the sentence is incorrect - there's no such sentence as  i look something to eat - but  if you want to say continuously you can write - i look for something to eat - that is acceptable -

hope it helps -

i) is there any difference between non-stop and non stop? in terms of its meaning i mean... should we ignore the dash sign there?

ii) when i'm reading, especially a novel, i will find a few words that italicized by the author...what's that mean?

thank u...
