Hi. Harap harap expertise kat sini leh membantu.

Semalam, i baru beli Sony LCD TV 40 inci Model : 40X200A dari Sony Style KLCC. Mengidam model ni semenjak dari tahun sudah. Japan made lagi. Masa test i tengok display masa salesman promote kat TV tu sharp betul. Hubby i pun berkenan setuju nak beli model ni

Bila bawa balik, problem bermula bila LCD ni tak dapat bagi sharp pictures bila on sekali ngan Astro. Terus terang i kata gambar pecah pixel nya. S-Video cable dah guna tapi masih cam tu jugak. Setting dah buat tapi masih tak leh jugak.

Tolong bantu.

tv ko beli tu mahal sgt.. full 1080p tu... dekat 15K tu..

tv 1080p mmg takde Astro Picture Enhancement Mode, selalu kat LCD sony yang half HD selalu ada mode tu kat display settings..

call astro suh diaorang bubuh HD, cakap kat depa sudah2x laa quality (Laserdisc) 480x576 tu...skang dah zaman High Definition 1920 x 1080

aku pun sama cam ko, beli Flat panel idak buat tgk DVD, surfing jaa... tgk Astro maseh pakai TV sony lama 29 inci tu..sebab kualiti dia buruk nak mampos tgk kat LCD..

aku lagi prefer tgk PLASMA than LCD...

espcially  tgk football matches... LCD kantoi besar sbb ada byk ghost shadow effects..

most ppl now are being fooled by advertisements..  get LCD now and enjoy the true colours..

bila pasang kat astro, tgk bola, sume kantoi...  dah lah sakit mata, pastu tambah pulak dgn sakit hati!

6-9 bulan kemudian, harga dia jatuh.. lagiiii sakit hati!!!!

i agreed with you. lcd doesn't have very good black color and viewing angle compare to plasma. with better technology, plasma has less pixel burn also.

i went to big screen only store to check on few lcd (i intended to get a sony lcd based on great review by lots of consumers) and plasma tv and very impress with picture quality shown by plasma... way superior, especially panasonic brand. i went back and forth, between plasma and lcd, to try convince myself that it's okay to get lcd, but could not do it.

i'm not familiar with this model, is it hi-def model? if hi-def, then that's what you should expect from analog input. i don't think malaysia has lots of hd channels yet. unless you can find analog to digital converter, you're out of luck.

however, if you played hi-def movie on the tv, doesn't matter the source is (dvd, computer, ipod, etc.), you'll get great picture. you can really see if a person wear too much make-up, try to cover pimple, etc.

hi...everyone

Here's what i found out..

static images displayed over a lengthy period of time (say 30 minutes) on a plasma panel will produce a "burn-in" which cannot be removed and is not covered under warranty. Also videos on plasma tends to be dim compared to lcd if viewed under bright conditions.

Anyone ever hear plasma panels used for pc? i think not...the icons will be permanently burned onto the screen in about 1/2 hour if one's not careful. If one's watching tv channels, please note that the the tv logo will also get imprinted if it remains static over 1/2 hour.

i'm using a 42" 1920 X 1080 non branded lcd (below RM7800) with my pc for HD videos. Wouldn't buy any branded as too costly and will be replaced by LEDs in a few years anyway. The viewing angle is very, very good but no one will want to view from the side as the image gets squished.. Now if anyone wants one, i've got spares..

Be warned, once you've seen how good HD videos look, DVD looks blur and tv channels look quite bad.

Also the X-series is the hi-end Sony LCD model in Malaysia...capable of 1920 X 1080 resolution...

LCD has a good black level if view under normal living room conditions with the lightings left on, plasma looks dim under these conditions..you can try increase the brightness and contrast but the phosphor will age faster (ie the plasma panel's lifespan is shortened usually to 1/2)

Now,i've tested my LCD with a video clip of a football match highlights in HD and i couldn't detect ghosting. (BTW,the response time is below 8ms). Same with the movie STAR WARS EPISODE III REVENGE OF THE SITH in HD and etc...with a lot of fast actions and explosions...no ghosting at all.

My LCD specs.
native contrast ratio 1600:1
brightness 500cd/m2
size 42"
max on screen resolution 1920 X 1080

A bit of advice...usually salespeople demonstrate the full capabilties of LCDs/plasma with HD signals from PLAYSTATION 3/BLU RAY player/HD generator. So before anyone buys anything, try using over the air tv broadcast/favorite dvds and then do a comparison. Also beware of that dynamic contrast ratio gimmick... you will never see those on screen at the same moment

The reason is that in a few years time, once the government implements digital broadcast, you need not buy a new plasma/ LCD just because the old one does support 1920 X 1080 resolution. FYI, actually Astro receive digital signals from UK/US..but have to convert to analogue as most Malaysian homes do not have a tv that support digital signals...a minimum resolution of 1280 X 720 or commonly referred to as 1 megapixel.

Astro enhancement mode is not a feature i like..it introduces way too much edge enhancement and grain(picture noise)..makes usual dvd viewing terrible. If anyone wants it clear...wait for HD...there's no other way.

If there is any other questions, please forward them and i'll do my best to answer...thanks for your time.

And cheers.

boleh sesapa upkan gambar astro with and without monster cable?
sebabnya, kat lyn forum, guna monster cable ni dapat la gak sharp image untuk astro.
cable yg bagus:
composite (merah, kuning, putih) < s-video < component < dvi < hdmi
