Is there any possibilities that someone might lose his/her ability/profiency of English Language? It is because I'm feeling that way.

to answer your question -
in my honest opinion, i believe a person could/might lose
his ability to speak the language fluently if he didn't practice it and
haven't use it for a considerable time -

just as i lost my ability to speak arabic fluently because the
lack of practice - although i can understand the language
when i hear it or read it -

the ability to speak is different with the ability
to understand and to read -

and the ability to speak comes a bit later after the understanding
of the language -

For those who interested to improve their english...maybe this is something that could help you..i learn and try to improve my english conversation by surf internet and etc..

If you say that something happens like clockwork you mean that it happens without any problems or delays, or happens regularly.
  
Example :  He reorganized Standard Brands twice a year, like clockwork.

i'll post more example on english daily conversation...

Try to read it many times....and cuba bercakap konon2 macam korang berlakon la bila baca skrip ni..baca banyak2 kali...then..kalo rajin...sediakan satu buku...try to wrote down what you've been read without look at the example...

After finish wrote down the conversation...check balik sama ke tak...so, maybe korang akan perasan ada grammar error ke and so on la...

try to write down what you have read without looking at the example

After you have finished writing down the conversation ....check it back to see whether there is any grammatical error in your writing ...

I think these are passive voice sentences too, just  ...

She was never heard of = she was missing thus considered as dead by everyone   and this happened in the past and ended in the past , may be now she is safely in her grave because her body has been found.   

She has never been heard of = she has been missing and is still missing....

She was being knocked down by a bus = past progressive tense is most of the time used to describe a situation which began earlier and was in progress when another action occured.  for example  :  she was being knocked down by a bus when I met her this morning.

She was knocked down by a bus = simple tense indicates that the situation began and ended in the past .

1. the correct way to ask someone whether they missed you or not --
Did you miss me?
usually asked because we havent hear any news from our friends
or our gf has been gone for 6 months to Africa - and we haven't heard
anything from her  since  -

if you said: do you miss me  --  and you are talking face to face
how could i answer that cuz i am not missing you anymore --

but u might ask that on the phone while talking to your gf --
and to know if she actually is missing you at that moment --
(do you miss me, zurina? )  she might say ; yeah i do  or
she might say;  nope, i don't  ( and you gonna jump out of the window    )

it is isolated case - but grammatically correct -


2. are you sleeping is the conversation that is in present  such as:
you called your girlfriend maria :

ring..ring...
mariai:  yawn...    hell    lo...  (with sleepy voice)
you: maria....! ooppps   are you sleeping?

now that's the correct way to ask...

do you sleeping is incorrect by itself  cuz
sleeping is already a 'doing' act   thus you do not ask redundantly --
cuz everybody needs sleep -

the general questions will be:  Did you sleep? or How's your sleep?

but u can ask:  did you sleep last night (past tense)?
and your friend might say - yeah  i did for a few hours
or  nope -  i couldn't, i drank too much coffee..   etc etc

Simple present expresses events or situations that exists always , usually  or habitually .... so I think this question ---- Do you miss me? ---- is valid lets say in a long distance relationship when you can't meet your loved one often enough ! A sentence with similar meaning would be  " do you have the habit of missing me often since we are further apart now ? "

for the long distance for instance talking on the phone
such as the example i gave :

it follows the subject verb agreement

the boy is the subject
went is the verb
and the rest is to complement the subject + verb

247 - the sentence did follow subject verb agreement -

The boy and his friends went to the shop.

actually both sentences are correct --

the subject - the boy and his friends
verb -  went

funny that the teacher said the first sentence was wrong
but -- the only thing i can think of is -

you didnt mention the full context as what the sentence is for
for example:
is the sentence require the use of preposition 'with'?

u need to tell me what exactly the sentence requires and
under what context

if it is just regular sentences
then both sentences are correct grammatically -
