The Proton Saga RED Show Car


RED has more than one meaning. One is explained below. Another is about the striking exterior colour (9 paint layers right there). One other reason is to pay hommage to the hugely popular original red Saga. Do be informed that RED is not another division or department within Proton. The development & design of this car is the brainchild of Proton Design; the commercial name of Proton very own Styling Department.


Revolutionary.

The design concept is Sporty Executive therefore it shouldnt simply evolve the current style. It should break convention and stir up emotions. Brash but restrained. Cool tidings.


Enhanced.

It does just that; enhances the visual emotions connected to the new Saga. Guaranteed to surprise even the most hardened detractor. It doesnt shout to be avant-garde; different enough to have its own Wow factor, similar enough with what we are used to so as not to be alien.


Design.

This is what RED is all about. An execution of beautiful design in a smart package. A sports executive hot saloon with looks to amaze and a proposition so appealing it will surely be copied to no end. Do pass us the credits way!



The change items for RED is very simple but effective. The mirror like exterior colour specially developed for this car is called Candy Red. It has almost no visible mica pigments and the red colour you see is actually due to the tinted super clear top coat. The silver like finishing is also special in that it is also used on the Porsche Cayenne. Its called Galvano and is attractive because of its satin quality. The wheels are a monstrous 17″ Ultraleggera OZ super lightweight alloys with Continental rubber. To further enhance its stance, the car is lowered with a set of Proton R3 sport springs (also in red!). Other fine touches are the blacked out headlamps and the blood red rear combi lamps. The exterior is completed with an awesome bodykit designed in-house. The interior? Cool leather & alcantara seats give a luxury ambiance while the all-round soft feel paint job matts down the plastics to give it a leather-like feel. To contrast this matt look, we painted the instrument panel centre plus a bit of the door in Dark Galvano just to introduce a bit of a cool metal look. Dont forget to have a look at the motorized single DIN head unit by Clarion. Features a 7″ touch screen, DVD/CD/MP3 player and is iPod ready

Proton Satria Neo Super 2000 Rally Car Prototypes




Proton Satria Neo to Compete in World Rally Championship

We have just received spyshots of the development prototype of a Proton Neo Super 2000 Rally car. Not much is known about who is building it or where. Neither are there any confirmed information about who will be competiting in this car. But it sure looks to be a fascinating story to keep tabs on especially for local rallying enthusiasts like us.

What is for sure though is that it should start competing in at last a few rounds of the Super 2000 category in world rally competitions by the middle of this year.

Super 2000, also known as S2000, is an FIA specification and classification for production based race cars. The specification is split to cover both rally and touring car racing.

The goal of the Super 2000 classification is to allow more manufacturers and privateers to race by reducing the cost of a competitive car.

Abarth Grande Punto
Ford Fiesta

MG ZR

FIA specifications include the following:

* Derived from production model, of which 2500 have been produced in the past year

* Normal Aspiration
* Minimal weight 1150kg
* All wheel drive is permitted in rally cars, but not in touring cars.
* 6-speed sequential gearbox (Control specification made by Sadev, Xtrac or Ricardo. No electronics allowed in differentials)

* Maximum width of 1.8 meters

Proton To Unveil MPV Next Year

KOTA BAHARU, Feb 10 (Bernama) -- Proton Holdings Berhad (Proton) will be introducing a multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) early next year, said its managing director Datuk Syed Zainal Abidin Syed Mohamed Tahir.

"I cannot say more on the MPV. We will just have to wait and see," he said when launching Proton's PINTAR programme at the Sekolah Kebangsaan Paloh here today.

On sales, Syed Zainal said the public had given strong response to the Proton Saga sedan launched on Jan 18 with bookings having reached 32,000 units.

He said efforts were being made to speed up their delivery to customers by introducing two work shifts to increase production.

The Pintar programme is a corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative by the government-linked-company (GLC) and under it a host of activities like tuition, nutrition, motivation, counselling and skills development classes are provided to students from selected schools.

Waja Campro CPS pantas




PENGENALAN model Proton Waja dilengkapi enjin Campro 1.6L dengan Cam shaft Profi le Switching (CPS) dan  Variable Intake Manifolds (VIM), barubaru ini bukan sahaja memberi nafas baru kepada peminat model berkenaan, malah berbaloi untuk dimiliki.

Enjin yang dikenali sebagai Campro CPS itu bukan sahaja menawarkan kuasa lebih tinggi, malah memberi tindak balas lebih pantas ketika memecut selain penggunaan minyak yang cekap.


Ditawarkan pada harga RM61,888 seunit bagi transmisi manual lima kelajuan dan RM64,888 untuk versi automatik empat kelajuan, orang ramai kini mempunyai pilihan untuk memiliki kenderaan yang selesa, berkuasa dan jimat.

Selain itu, Proton Holding Bhd turut menawarkan jaminan lanjutan selama tiga tahun selepas jaminan pengeluar bagi setiap pemilik Waja Campro CPS.

Pengarah Urusannya, Datuk Syed Zainal Abidin Syed Mohamed Tahir, berkata Waja Campro CPS yang dipertingkatkan itu mampu memberikan lebih kuasa dan penjimatan minyak.

Menurutnya, model Waja Campro CPS terbaru itu bukan saja menawarkan prestasi, tetapi turut dilengkapi ciri lebih menarik berbanding model sebelumnya.

Secara keseluruhannya, saya gembira dengan model Waja yang dipertingkatkan ini dan kami menunggu maklum balas daripada pelanggan.

Proton kini dalam usaha mempertingkatkan diri dalam pelbagai aspek, kami berpendapat ini masa yang sesuai mengubah model Waja dan Proton optimis peminat akan menerima perubahan ini secara positif, katanya.

Penggunaan teknologi CPS dan VIM terbukti meningkatkan kuasa sehingga 13 peratus kepada 125 kuasa kuda (hp) berbanding 110hp pada enjin Camro standard.

Selain mampu menyediakan pemanduan lancar dan tindak balas pantas, enjin dengan teknologi CPS dan VIM mematuhi peraturan pengeluaran asap Eropah terkini.

Paling menarik, Waja Campro CPS berupaya memotong mengguna gear tiga, empat dan lima di bawah pacuan antara 2,500 hingga 4,500 rpm.

Ciri lain yang diperbaharui adalah Waja dilengkapi tingkap kawalan jauh elektrik, tempat rehat kepala kerusi depan boleh ubah, gear automatik ciri berpagar (gate shifter) dan kemasan panel meter baru.

Waja Campro CPS turut dilengkapi dengan sistem pembuka but belakang kawalan jauh, sistem brek anti-kekunci (ABS), lampu anti kabus, rim aloi dan kerusi kulit.

Ciri luaran lain termasuk lampu Xenon dengan pelaras lampu utama, muncung ekzos berkembar, skrin ultra ungu dan struktur badan menepati piawaian Eropah.

Ia hadir dengan enam warna menarik iaitu bronze garnet, blue agate, iridescent white, twilight blue, metal gray dan burgundy.
