Heheh..anyway, probably you made the same mis-identification as the German pilots during BoB...thinking they are always being bounced by Spits even though they are being attacked by Hurricanes.

Too bad pesawat seperti Ta 152, Fw 190D-9, Ki-84, Ki-100 dan N1K2 mempunyai samada masalah QC, kekurangan bahan bakar atau juruterbang kurang berpengalaman

P51 Mustang...Cadillac of the Sky!!...

I agree with Tengo's selection. The North American P-51 Mustang isa product concieved during the early years of WWII. A truely hardy and excellent aircraft. Flown  by US Army Air Corps and Marines ( I am not sure about the RAFs' wallies). Widely used in European theater as bombers escort and in the Pacific war during the islands hopping campaign. This write up taken from a site on P-51[size=-1]www.fighterfactory.com/airworthy-aircraft/p-51d-mustang-aircraft.php
.
[quote] April 1940, British Purchasing Commission gavethe North American Aircraft Company 120 days to produce an advancedfighter prototype that met their specifications. The result was theNorth American P-51 Mustang. With its 1,150 hp Allison engine,laminar-flow wing to reduce drag, ducted coolant radiator under thefuselage, and wide-track landing gear, the Mustang easily achievedoutstanding marks from the British. In fact, the Royal Air Forcebegan receiving their order of the Mustang I variant just two monthsbefore Pearl Harbor. The fighters were equipped with four .50 caliberand four .303 caliber guns. The Mustang抯 design allowed it tocarry an ample amount of ammunition, as well as two to four times theamount of fuel of its rivals, making it ideal for long-rangemissions.
As the war progressed, air-to-air combat began to occur at higherand higher altitudes. Pilots quickly discovered the thin air athigher altitudes greatly reduced the Allison engine抯 performance,so the Mustang was relegated to low-level reconnaissance andphotographic missions. But in 1942, the United States Army Air Forcere-examined the Mustang抯 capabilities and placed a larger orderfor several different variants.
Later that year, North American began to test Merlin( Merlin ? this ia a bloody British's engine) engines inthe P-51, to improve its performance at higher altitudes. The testswere successful and demand for the P-51B and P-51C (both equippedwith Merlin engines) increased dramatically. Almost 4,000 of theseversions were produced with four 12.7 mm guns and attachments fortwo-drop tanks or 1,000 lb bombs. The most highly produced Mustang, the P-51D built in 1944, had a more powerful Merlin engine, six.50-inch guns, an extra dorsal fin, and a sliding canopy. NorthAmerican produced close to 8,000 慏

Whilst the Mustang matures into an excellent fighter aircraft, its early versions were fairly average in performance until re-engined with the superlative Merlin engine.

Enjin Allison...sama dengan P-40. So kira US takleh nak dabik dada sangat la...walaupun enjin Merlin Mustang licence-build oleh Packard, asal enjinnya dari luar....
