- nak travel backpack eropah
di mana tempat nak stay di london?
- tak ada tempat stay lg, tapi bercadang nak stay di hostel area bayswater sebab dekat dgn malaysian hall.
berapa lama nak backpack whole europe?
mana dapat duit banyak2 since aku baru kerja 2 3 bulan je?
- kumpul daripada tahun 2006 since study dulu + ptptn loan.

last sekali, dia cakap "enjoy your backpacking holiday in europe" sambil senyum. Last edited by henpao on 5-11-2012 09:13 AM

Deported Malaysian demands apology

Leven Woon |         October 25, 2012

Hooi Mei Then was denied entry into Taiwan because she was accused of being a human trafficker, a charge that puzzles her.

KUALA LUMPUR: A clerk who has no criminal record was shocked to learn that she was denied entry into Taiwan when she went there for a trip a few weeks ago. Hooi Mei Theng, 28, was barred by the Taiwanese immigration officers upon arriving there on Oct 7 as she was accused of being a human trafficker.

Having been detained and deported by the Taiwanese authorities, she felt humiliated and demanded an apology from them. Hooi was on her maiden seven-day trip to Taiwan with her husband and a friend, and arrived at the Taoyuan International Airport at around 10.40pm. While her husband and friend passed through immigration without any problems, she was however stopped and accused of committing a human trafficking offence in Taiwan in March 2009.

“They claimed that I was on their blacklist and they have banned me for 10 years starting 2009.
“I asked for clarifications but they only showed a paper that had my name, identification card number, passport number and the accusation that I brought illegal immigrants into Taiwan before,” she claimed. She was subsequently detained overnight by Taiwan’s immigration authorities and deported back to Malaysia on Oct 8. Puzzled by the deportation, Hooi said she had never faced this kind of situation before when visiting China in April this year, and Singapore, Thailand and Indonesia earlier.

“I have never lost my identification card or passport. I am completely clueless why this happened,” she added.
Hooi later brought her case to the Bukit Aman police headquarters, Malaysian immigration department and Foreign Ministry.
She was certified with a letter of good conduct by the ministry on Oct 16. “I want them [the Taiwanese authorities] to apologise and compensate the RM7,000 hotel fees and other expenses I have paid upfront for the trip,” she said.

A different version.

Lim said the Taiwanese embassy’s secretary told them a different story during a meeting.

“He said it was not accurate to say she committed the offence in Taiwan. The Taiwanese authorities only got the information from an international network against human traffickers which they are a member of. “He said the reason that Hooi was still allowed to enter a few countries was that those nations are not members of the network,” the MP said. Lim also criticised the secretary’s arrogance for allegedly refusing to reconsider the ban, saying that Taiwan “can afford to lose a tourist like Hooi”. He said such a statement was uncalled for as Malaysians would generally choose developed nations such as the United States or Japan if they were to work illegally.

“If we go Taiwan, the sole purpose is only to spend, not to work illegally,” he said. He added that the Malaysian’s police assistance was much needed to further pursue the case to clear Hooi’s name.

Every month, about 70 Malaysians are put on the next flight back on suspicion they plan to work or overstay.  baru on suspicion pun dah kena antar pulang (at our own expense).

At least one Malaysian is denied entry into Britain every day

LONDON: At least one Malaysian is denied entry into Britain daily to prevent overstaying.

The Malaysian High Commission in London revealed that most travelled on budget airlines and arrived at London’s Stansted Airport.

It is believed that every month, about 70 Malaysians are put on the next flight back on suspicion they plan to work or overstay without valid documents.

The British Home Office has resorted to the harsh stand because it believes over 20,000 Malaysians are currently overstaying in Britain, some even up to 15 years, and working illegally as dish washers, cooks and doing other odd jobs.

The issue is among matters expected to arise during Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s meeting with British Prime Minister David Cameron today at No. 10 Downing Street.

Malaysian High Commissioner to Britain Datuk Zakaria Sulong urged Malaysians travelling to Britain to respect and observe the British immigration laws.

During a briefing to Malaysian journalists covering Najib’s four-day official visit to Britain yesterday, he said travellers who were denied entry were found to have given unsatisfatory reasons for their visit, having inadequate funds, incomplete addresses, and lacked information on the contact person in Britain.

To warn Malaysians on this, the commission placed a notice on the front page of its official website (www.jimlondon.net) advising visitors to observe the six-month free visa period and not to abuse the facility.

Those who wish to work, study or remain in Britain are advised to obtain relevant entry clearance from the respective British High Commission or refer to its official website.

“Although we are not slapped with the visa regime now, we are constantly being reviewed as among the top 12 countries known for such woes,” he said, adding that 300 Malaysians who had overstayed had come forward and the commission issued them emergency certificates for their return home.

“It would be better for them to seek our assistance rather than being detained by the British authorities where they would be slapped with a penalty and banned from entering Britain for a period,” he said, adding that such offenders would also not be issued with a passport for a few years.

By not surrendering, he said they were pressing Britain to impose visa regulation on Malaysians, and if this happened, each traveller would have to pay RM1,200 for the tourist visa.

Zakaria said Britain also placed a cap on post study visas, only allowing 1,000 students to work for two years after completing their studies.

Previously, he said, all students were entitled to the facility.

The commission had also found Malaysian passports being abused by those from China, Sri Lanka and India to gain illegal entry into Britain.

Tak heran kenapa berlaku. Negara kita pun selalu send back pelawat. Sy dah tengok dgn mata sendiri dua tiga kali... Flight kami hold back rupa rupanya pelawat yg dtg on that plane kena reject entry and immediately send back on the spot.

Because usually ada masalah overstayed, working illegally dan juga pelacuran. Kalau malaysian dah kena aim, maknanya dah ramai malaysian abused the system.
