Ha ha ha..l am definitely not a playboy but as a car enthusiast, l share your opinions on some of the models that you have presented, certainly the Audi R8.

But, has anyone given a thought about a more mature style, like the new Rollss Royce - Phantom Drophead Coupe..

.

This is really classy with the value currently standing at RM2,200,000. If you were to buy this and ship it back to Malaysia then with the Custom tax, will push the value to over 3 million. Ermmm.. l don't think l would want to waste my money to pay the tax. But if it is not because of the restrictions on AP and custom excise tx duty, l would imagne there will be a lot of millionaire's son and daughters studying abroad who would consider taking one back to Malaysia.... It's a rare species. .

This is definitely gonna cost more than RM4mil in M'sia based on the engine capacity. Bentley's 6.0 l engine is already RM3mil +.

Lmao...Ibmerah, you really know how to bring a smile into people's face. Good job that the engine did not fall over.

Into a more serious note Sonofodin, among the three -  Mercedez, Audi and BMW
the market in the UK shows a sharp increase in sales for BMW followed by Audi and my favourite falls into third place unfortunately.

You can either be a Mercedez man or a BMW. For if you can buy a Mercedez, you could also buy a BMW or an Audi. It's just a matter of choice.

Normally you will find that buyers will start off with a Mercedez and they will up-grade this to a Bentley or a Maserati then progress further to a Roll Royce. Rolls Royce is the ultimate dream car.

But to give you all an idea what car we can buy in the market the lists are as follows:

Alpha Romeo
Aston Martin
Audi
Bentley
BMW's
Cardillac
Citroen
Daihatsu
Dodge
Ferrarri
Fiat
Ford
Honda
Hyundai
Jaguar
Jeep
KIA
Lamborghini
Land Rover
Lexus
Lotus
Maserati
Maybach
Mazda
Mercedez Benz
MINI
Mitsubishi
Morgan
Nissan
Perodua...
Peugeot
Porsche
Proton...
Renault
Rolls Royce
SAAB
SEAT
Skoda....
SMART
SSangYong
Subaru
Suzuki
Toyota
Vauxhalll
Volkswagen
and last but not least Volvo.

For Jaguar enthusiasts, they have now produced a stunning sports version which come in the form of Jaguar XK. The price tag on this is around RM500,000. With the custom and excise tax...your guess is as good as mine.

What is your dream car ?.

Audi used to be a top seller amongst the big 3 in UK back in the 70's. Ever since VW took over the marketing in UK, sales of Audi plunged rock bottom.
New marketing strategy and new models have boost up sales of Audi in UK this year. I was surprised to hear from you that Audi is doing better than Merc.
In the recent years BMW has over taken Merc as No1 premium car manufacturer worldwide. Sales of Merc has declined due to quality problem.
In Singapore, BMW is now no1 premium car, follow by Merc and Lexus. Merc still reign in Asia. In US and Europe, BMW is a head of the rest. Audi is fast catching up in Europe. Merc has dominated the premium market for a long time. It is high time for them to retire. BTW the S Class is still unbeatable in the luxury segment. The Bimmer 7 series still has a long way to catch up.

As for my dream car is always Audi A8. Can't afford one right now not even a second hand. Maintenance is too high. A rare breed in Malaysia.

ANN ARBOR, MI -- AUTOMOBILE MAGAZINE, America抯 leading automotivelifestyle publication (www.automobilemag.com) and part of SOURCEINTERLINK MEDIA, today announced that the Audi R8 is its 2008Automobile of the Year. The magazine also named the R8 Design of theYear and GM抯 Two-Mode Hybrid System Technology of the Year.

The winners are featured in the pages of the February 2008 issue ofAUTOMOBILE MAGAZINE, available on newsstands beginning January 2, 2008.

2008 Automobile of the Year: Audi R8
Audi抯 first foray into the sports car arena impressed the editors withits depth of abilities, which include straight-line speed, deepreserves of power, generous suspension travel, laser-like directionalstability, and the surefootedness of all-wheel drive. The R8抯glass-encased, 420-hp, 4.2-liter V-8 engine has the sound of atraditional Italian supercar. Editors called it a great real-worldsports car in the vein of the Porsche 911, but with the exotic presenceof a Ferrari.

揟he R8 absolutely captivated the automotive world this past year,攕aid Jean Jennings, President and Editor-in-Chief of AUTOMOBILEMAGAZINE. 揑t propels Audi into a whole new league of driving dynamics, and it emphatically caps Audi抯 steep ascent from the somnambulant lullin which it languished in the early 1990s. The R8 is a thrilling newsports car from a company that抯 stronger than it抯 ever been.
