Just to share..info f\dari WIKIPEDIA:

AIM-9L

AIM-9L Captive Air Training Missile (CATM) with inert warhead and rocket motor for training purposes. The next major advance in IR Sidewinder development was the AIM-9L ("Lima") model, introduced in 1978. This was the first "all-aspect" Sidewinder with the ability to attack from all directions, including head-on, which had a dramatic effect on close in combat tactics. In its first combat use by Israel over Lebanon and by the United Kingdom during the Falklands War, the "Lima" reportedly achieved a kill ratio of around 80%, a dramatic improvement over the 10-15% levels of earlier versions. In both initial combat uses of AIM-9L, the opponents had not developed any tactics for the evasion of a head-on missile shot of this kind, making them all the more vulnerable. The AIM-9L was also the first Sidewinder that was a joint variant used by both the US Navy and Air Force. The "Lima" was distinguished from earlier Sidewinder variants by its double delta forward canard configuration and natural metal finish of the guidance and control section. The Lima was also built under license in Europe by a team headed by BGT. BGT also markets an improved version of the basic Lima as the AIM-9L(I) or Improved. This has an improved seeker more resistant to IRCM and is considered an operational equivalent to the initially "US only" AIM-9M.

AIM-9M

AIM-9M Sidewinder with distinctive "Dash-9" lettering being preflighted by a USAF pilot. Note the blue stripe, which indicates that this example has an inert warhead intended for training purposes. The subsequent AIM-9M ("Mike") has the all-aspect capability of the L model while providing all-around higher performance. The M model has improved capability against infrared countermeasures, enhanced background discrimination capability, and a reduced-smoke rocket motor. These modifications increase its ability to locate and lock on a target and decrease the missile's chances for detection. Deliveries of the initial AIM-9M-1 began in 1982. The only changes from the AIM-9L to the AIM-9M were related to the Guidance Control Section (GCS). Several models were introduced in pairs with even numbers designating Navy versions and odd for USAF: AIM-9M-2/3, AIM-9M-4/5, and AIM-9M-6/7 which was rushed to the Persian Gulf area during Desert Shield to address specific threats expected to be present. The AIM-9M-8/9 incorporated replacement of five circuit cards and the related parentboard to update infrared counter counter measures (IRCCM) capability to improve 9M capability against the latest threat IRCM. The first AIM-9M-8/9 modifications were fielded in 1995 involved deskinning the guidance section and substitution of circuit cards at the depot level, which is labor intensive and expensive as well as removing missiles from inventory while it is accomplished. The AIM-9X concept is to use reprogrammable software to permit upgraded software changes in the container.

AIM-9S

The AIM-9S is a stripped-down version of the AIM-9M without the IRCCM system. It is intended for export, and the first customer will be Turkey

General characteristics (AIM-9L)
Length: 2.85 m (9 ft 4 in)
Wingspan: 630 mm (24

Better to combine any possible requirement for a M-MRCA with one for a LIFT.  One platform from trainer to a 2nd-tier fighter.  M346 and Yak130 are better choices.  Maybe even the L15.  All three have twin engines.

tak tau la wa nak jawab requirement lu nih, pasai tudm masih pakai hawk 100/200 which is single engine for training n light fighter or 2nd tier fighter, apart from the 5-6 crashes involving this type, depa masih berpuashati ngan penggunaan a/c 1 enjin tersebut setakat ni. so masalah 1 enjin spt gripen tak mungkin menimbulkan masalah utama dari segi pengoperasian spt yg telah tudm buat selama nih.

Saya rasa kita tambah SU-30MKM hingga 30 buah. Dapatkan F/A-18E Superhornet 20 buah. Beli Gripen 18 buah. Lain maintain Hawk 108 dan MB-339C.

Mig-29, F/A-18D, F-5E dan Hawk 200 kita jual. J-10 ni bukan dari projek Lavi ke?

mintak maaf, altantuya is dead, dia cuma boleh jawab soalan2 di alam barzakh jer.....kesian kat dia, jangan la sebut2 lagi nama dia....
sorry brader, it's not about hawk, it's more about the operation of single engine fighter by RMAF, whether it suits its needs n operations or not. operasi pesawat 1 enjin spt hawk selama ini menunjukkan tiada halangan bagi tudm mengoperasikan pesawat 1 enjin, jadi tiada sebab utk mengetepikan gripen dari calon MMRCA utk tudm.

Personally, I choose MiG-29 OVT or even MiG-35 for the M-MRCA candidate for MY. Either that or get 2nd hand F-18D Hornets from USMC to fill that role.

Our pilots are already well-versed in both MIG-29 & F-18 avionics. But with the advancement & leap of tech between your basic miG-29N to MiG-35 is expected, to our advantage. As for F-18D case, well, RMAF may still need to balance to turn all Ruskies Airforce since we still need to 'suck-up' to Uncle Sam, another 8 F-18D would suffice to supplement the current 8 RMAFs F-18D.

Given we already have a local company (ATSC) that already done a good job as maintenance center for MiG-29N & later Su-30MKM, we'll be saving a lot of cost in terms of maintaining another aircraft of Russian origin.

I voted MiG-35 for practicality.

Kenapa tak pilih kplterbang ini?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/KAI_T-50_Golden_Eagle

Harga murah ($22 juta US) jadi TUDM boleh beli banyak, Radar canggih seperti GRIFO-M boleh dipasang, dan modifikasi boleh dibuat utk membolehkan dia mengguna AMRAAM.
