ada satu ahli forum yg kadang2 masuk dalam forum book & lit ini yg saya respect tentang pembacaan nya... walaupun dia punyai tanggapan yang sagat salah terhadap jd salinger - catcher in the rye - dan punyai outlook yg sangat senget tentang ulama dan islam fundamentalis (his views are totally wrong and mine is  right of course ...heh heh heh)...despite all that... saya angkat topi pasal taste dia terhadap buku... dan bila ada sales misal nya baru2 ni times warehouse sales ..i was on the look out for books that he reccomends or like...and i bought jose Saramago, per olov enquist, russel banks dan john cheever  based on his views of these writers...

ahli forum ni nama nya PESSOA....

dan ni nak iklan sikit... kalau nak tau apa yg saya baca sila lawati blog saya

Dude,

Stop it with the ... Use [.] or [,]. I've never read Cheever.

And Catcher in the Rye (not Salinger, mind you) sucks. And so too ramai ulamak and fundamentalists (literalists is more like it; illiterate, moralistic, megalomaniacs).

You know I'm right.

--------

i. Living to Tell The Tale - Gabriel Garcia Marquez
ii. Seven Japanese Tales - Junichiro Tanizaki
iii. Norwegian Wood - Haruki Murakami
iv. Rock Springs - Richard Ford
v. Blue Angel - Francine Prose
vi. Samarkhand - Amin Malouf
vii. Aunt Safiyya and the Monastery - Bahaa Taher
viii. The Mandarin and other Storis - Eca de Queiroz

Rujuk di Amazon untuk sinopsis.

nak tambah 2 more authors esp dari segi facts and research dia;

James Clavell - Taipan, Shogun, Noble House, Whirlwind, Gai Jin
Frederick Forsyth - thriller tapi detail dia best - masa dia described one character driving from point A to point B in London, rasa macam memang kita kat sana.  Among the books, Day of the Jackal, Odessa File etc... byk.

Having read FF, Dan Brown's Da Vinci Code seems shallow to me.

Kalau ada sokongan fakta, Norsha suka robin cook's novels...he writes normally based on medical field sb buku2 dia mesti related to medicine/illness/viruses etc..sapa2 yg suka this field, i think you would definitely enjoy his books..

Norsha,

FF's novels are usually around espionage.  Detailnya bukan part-part ganas/ngeri tapi dari segi research yang dibuat.  Kalau banyak authors (e.g. Archer) guna imagination, FF buat research.  Cerita pun realistik dan tak exaggerate (e.g. ala Ludlum).

Following is what Wikipedia says of his research;

His research has caused headaches for governments. In The Day of the Jackal, he describes how the would-be assassin is able to get a new passport. He visits a church, and looks for a tombstone of someone who was born nearly the same time he was, but died in infancy. He then obtains a birth certificate, which enables him to obtain a passport in that person's name - effectively stealing an identity. In the story, the government didn't cross check passport requests with the death registry. Unfortunately, this was actually government practice at the time, and Forsyth revealed this in his writings. In The Deceiver, he describes how a British agent bugs the coffin of a dead IRA member. The microphone records the conversation of senior IRA members, who are using the funeral as a chance for a conference about terrorist activities. Journalists pressed the British government to ask if this had ever been done, and the British government was forced to admit that indeed it had.

I've read most if not all his writings;
Day of the Jackal and Fourth Protocol are my favourites.

I read few of Archer's novels and I kind of like them..so, this FF must be better since the facts are based on research...tq!

my advice to leybra - firstly, kna tgk dulu leybra suker baca buku camner? yela,kalu dah tak minat mysteries and crimes, tak guner gak kalu lelain soh bace SYYDNEY SHELDON (no offense kepader sesaper ye.....just contoh... )

leybra kena tepuk dada tanya selera (betul ker?)

pastuh go with ur guts jer, and it takes many hours to window-shop for books u really love to read
