I remembered reading something before in one of the posts, and something just snapped and made me thought about this.
Has anyone read any Twilight series by Stephenie Meyers?
If no, below are just some of the info that you'd wanna know about the books.
Twilight is a series of fantasy/romance/horror novels by Stephenie Meyer. It follows the adventures of Isabella Swan, a teenager who moves to Forks, Washington and finds her life turned upside down when she falls in love with a vampire named Edward Cullen.
The series is told primarily from Bella's point of view, with the epilogue of Eclipse being told from the viewpoint of Jacob Black. Midnight Sun, a future companion book to the series, will be told from Edward's point of view.
Currently, 3 books have been published under the series, and the next one is coming in 2nd of August 08.
- Twilight is a young adult vampire novel written by author Stephenie Meyer, originally published in hardcover in 2005. It is the genesis of the Twilight saga, and introduces seventeen-year-old Isabella "Bella" Swan who moves from Phoenix, Arizona to Forks, Washington and finds her life in danger when she falls in love with a vampire, Edward Cullen.

I just think that the series are just overrated. Stephanie Meyers has been hailed as the 'next J.K.Rowling'. Oh please. She's soo not. From the first 2 books that I've read, she's bringing something which has been told and retold, time and time again - novel with a vampiric theme. Now, the only thing that made me wanted to read this novel at first was because of the vampiric theme, but I was utterly disappointed. She didn't bring something original to the plotline [for both her first 2 novels], and she didn't make it that *much * extra interesting too. Maybe, it's just that I was expecting too much of the novel as so many people has told of its excellence.
I don't know. I'm not sure whether I'm biased or not, but I was just expecting more from it.
One thing I do know though, the movie will be great. Robert Pattinson as Edward Cullen is just spot on, and he's just fit in the scene. Fit in both sense
Don't be discouraged by what I say though, if you haven't read the books. You might like it.
I think I can liken the books to a Sophie Kinsella with a vampiric theme? I don't know. Most of the die-hard fans of the books loves chick-lits like Sophie Kinsella and etc [sorry, i didn't knew enough. ]

this book series tak popular sangat kat sini aku perasan. kat forum lain (non-local) aku tgk popular. ade massive fan bases. but nice to meet another twilight fan.

i know. back when HP was still ongoing, I always listens to Mugglecast and Pottercast - both are two very active podcasts which discusses HP in details [talk about fans ], and that is where I heard the series from. One of the podcasters were saying that all the teen-girls in the states are going ga-ga over some new books which were similarly written to HP. That was at least more than 6 months ago. Only got to reading it now.
i got to know this book from a french actor site. the site was full of fans wanting this actor gaspard ulliel to be edward. so from there i got to know about this book series. people are practically crazy, wanting petition for this guy to play edward and emily browning as bella.
i picked up a copy of twilight and new moon and couldn't put down the book.
as for eclipse i got it as ebook but my eyes really hurt reading from the comp.

ah ha ha. i too, saw this petition to have Tom Sturridge [from Like Minds] to be Robert Pattinson.
After I saw that site, I really thought that Tom would've played a much better Edward, until I saw the teaser trailer though, as Robert played Edward excellently

he's actually among the fan-favourite for Edward Cullen before.
oh for ur info Tom Sturridge is Robert Pattinson best friend.
rumour has it that Tom was not interested in the role of Edward or somewhere along that line and asked Rob to audition instead. and here we have it Rob as Edward.
rob is a much better edward to me. and hopefully the director will include Rob's version of Bella's lullaby in the movie.
i might be going back to malaysia next week [not sure yet, checking the airline ticket fare now], but i'll check the book store that i got the series from today.
if the books are still cheap, i'd gladly just buy it and give it to mod limau [for twilight and new moon], and eclipse for baduglyu
both the twilight and new moon - i got it for 1 euro each, about 5 ringgit per books when i bought them about 2/3 months ago. hopefully they're still at that price and in stock. [this is not like a reject shop for books. i don't know how they managed to keep the price that low, but this bookshop has a wide selection of novels and books at the range of one to 5 euros, including new books.]
p/s: dearest mod limau, tadik saje la rae gi survey nengok kalau ade lagi ke tak twilight and new moon harga 1 euro lagi ke tak, tapi too bad la, stok dah abis, kalau tak, mmg rae belikan untuk mod limau.

but people who havent read the latest book by Ms Meyer, The Host, aku menyarankan korg baca ..well i'm glad she has improved a lot in her writing
could you believe it, i actually saw the cover novel The Host ni tadik, and I didn't realize the writer's name tadi. will definitely go back and buy it.
just for the fun of it. here are the Indonesian's cover of the first and second book of the series. Apparently New Moon is Dua Cinta after translating. I like the USA's cover version better. This is a vampire book for goodness sake. The black cover actually add to the "mysteriousness" and "vampireness" to the plot of the book. These covers look like book for small kid. The same goes for Harry Potter book, I hate the cover with the cartoon Harry Potter.
I have 3 books in this series but so far I only read one; Twilight. The other two are so thick...

Bila habeskan, I thought - ini cerita mmg movie material and then I stumbled upon this thread and dapat tau, dah ade movie pun.. I must say I'm quite dissapointed with the cast but see first lah..the poster looks good (first post).

initially i was disappointed with the cast too for the film. but then over time it started to grow on me. and dec (movie release) is so far away.
