Trip to Guilin, China

Day 1:  kluar airport terasa sejuk mengigit tulang.  Pemandangan dr airpt ke hotel, mcm kita   dikeliling bukit2 kecil yang berbagai bentuk, rumah2 disini kurus2 belaka, 3 tkat, menurut autum (P.Pelancong) bangunan disini hampir serupa dgn Hanoi.  selepas check in kami dibawa ke hotel Guishan (5 bntg) utk lunch (muslim), wlau ada 8 jenis lauk, tapi kami ttp stia dgn sambal ikan bilis kami. ketawa budak hotel tu, Hasan namanya, asal dari Xian.  selepas tu kami dibawa ke Elephant trunk, bukit batu kapur yang mnyerupai gajah yg sdg minum air.   ramai remaja menyewa pakaian puteri/putra cina & mengabadikan gmbr mrk dalam bentuk kalender 2010 ( 20 yuan),  Kami berjln menyusuri sg. yg mengalir lembut & jernih hingga nampak seaweed didsrnya.  Burung berparuh pjg dan diikat leher nmpak lesu di atas rakit buluh, waktu mlm burung2 ini akan digunakan utk menangkap ikan & leher yg diikat itu utk mengelakkan burung memkn ikan itu. satu yg sgt kami kagumi, penjaja air tebu/keledek bakar yg menjaja di atas basikal roda 3, menyediakan tong sampah masing2 & mesti dibwa plng krumah slps berniaga, mmg bersih perskitran disitu & krjaanpun x pyahlah guna byk tenaga buruh utk kutip smpah.  Kendian kami dibwa ke Silk house, mmg cantik, tapi harganya,  mak oi, kwn tu suami offer spender silk, dia x mau - rugi2.  Selepas melawat kedai ubat (apa ke namanya - itu mesti) kmi shopping di convention centre, alamak murah2,  kasut sukan RM9/- rembat 2, cadar (q & k) RM15 siap ada sarong comforter lgi, rembat 5, ksut wanita RM9/- blehlah bawa ofis - bkn org tau,  kasut wnita (bergaya smpai buku lali) RM15- pakat beli nak pakai sama2 msa gi Gold Coast - dh booking dah. Autum dh pening, dahsyat btul org M'sia shopping katanya.  Selps mkm mlm di hotel yg sama, kami di bwa melihat akrobatik cina, hebat.

Day 2:  Selps srpn - nasi impit, smbal ikan bilis + tempe, serunding & kari.  Hari ini kami ke Yongshuo,  sepjg perjlnan kami disajikan pemandangan yg amat indah, dgn dikeliling bukit yng berbagai bentuk yg diliputi kabus di puncaknya, awan berarak lembut bagai kapas, ladang pisang kaki yg togel daunnya dgn setiap pokok  penuh buah yang menguning, saujana mata memandang,  labu bewarna oren pekat (kt M'sia kuning), limau bali & diselang seli dgn kebun sayur, bunga2an & ...... khinzir yg bebas spt anak kambing blari dicelah2  ldang pisang kaki adalah fenomena biasa.  autum menawarkan kami pisang kaki kering, kami menolak dgn baik, x lalu den.

Utk menaiki cruise menyusuri Li river, kena bejalan utk kejeti, wlaupun ada tuk tuk (btulke eja, mcm kt Thailand tu) kami selesa bejalan krna cuaca sejuk & dikiri knn lorong ada org berjualan brg antik, kipas, topi dan selipar yang dikait, berebut kami beli topi kait (rm5.00 - kat sini benang je 1 dh 5.50).  sampai dijeti, tepegun kami melihat sungai Li yg luas, jernih & mengalir lembut tapi menurut autum, thn 2000, paras air naik hingga 10 meter, menenggelamkn tebing.  di dlm cruise itupun kami dijamu dgn tea china, tapi kami minta air panas & bancuh nes 2 in 1, barulah panas sikit badan walau dh pakai baju 3 lapis,  ada juga jual sea food spt udang, ikan dll grg tepung, kami mkn jajan kami je & beri pd autum rasa.  Menyelusuri Li river, kami disajikan pemandangan petani memandikan kerbau, itik berenang2,  sampan kecil & anak gadis mencuci kain, menurut autum, kebykan yg duduk dikiri knn sungai susah & ada yg x gi skolah, mrka btani.  nantikan smbungnnya, layan...

Flight dan hotel by air asia. Macm mana pun dgn tour guide you kat sana, siapa uruskan. Tapi you ada mentioned stay kat 5 bintang hotel so you duduk kat mana sebenonya.

Elephant Trunk Hill



Elephant Trunk Hill stands majestically in the downtown area of Guilin city, at the junction of the Li River & the Peach Blossom River . The name was chosen because the shape pf the hill looks like a giant elephant dipping its trunk into the river. The green water of Li River and Elephant Trunk Hill combine to form one of the most famous hills and attactions in Guilin City .

Elephant Trunk Hill is regarded as the symbol of Guilin . Originally named "Li Hill", "Yi Hill" and "Chenshui Hill", the hill is 3.6 hundred million years old. The hill towers 55m above the Li River and measures 108m in length and 100m in width and has an elevation of 200m above sea level.

The Elephant Hill has several features: - Water Moon Cave (Shuiyue dong), Elephant's Eye Stone, and Pagoda for Puxian and Yunfeng Temple .

Water Moon Cave is at the riverside with water of Li River flowing through it. It looks like a full moon floating on the surface of the water with the moonlight reflected on the waves. Over 70 inscriptions from the Tang and Song dynasties can be found on the walls in and around this cave, praising the beauty of hills and waters nearby.

On top of the hill stands a pagoda named Puxian Pagoda. Built in the Ming dynasty (1368-1644), the pagoda looks like the handle of a sword.

Halfway up the hill lies another cave, which goes through the hill and represents the eyes of the elephant.There are many carvings and inscriptions inside and outside the cave. The most well-known one is a poem by Lu You (1125-1210), one of the four great poets of the Southern Song dynasty (1127-1279).

Li River



Originating in Mao'er Mountain in Xin'an county northeast of Guilin, the Li River winds its way southeast for about 437 km, passing through Guilin, Yangshuo, Pingle, Zhaoping and finally meets Xi River in Wulin. It boasts the largest and most beautiful scenic area in China and attracts thousands of visitors each year.

The 83-km-long waterway from Guilin to Yangshuo is like an artists's masterpiece. The landscape is decorated with rolling hills, steep cliffs, fantastic caves, leisurely boats and is lined with bamboo. A poem says: "The river is a green silk ribbon, and the hills are jade hair-pins".

Li River Cruise

Cruising on Li River is always a pleased thing. You can breathe the fresh air, feel gentle breeze and appreciate the fabulous landscape on both sides of Li River. In spring, tourists may stand on the front of a boat and let the mizzle falls onto their faces. It is really a wonderful experience.

"I have visited more than 80 countries and over a hundred cities. I have found that no city can surpass the beauty of Guilin. Guilin is really a bright pearl in China." said the former US president Nixon. Mostly the cruise starts from Zhujiang Wharf. It is about 40 minutes drive from Guilin city. And then 4 to 5 hours cruise will take you to a beautiful and sedate ancient city - Yangshuo.

Yangshuo



Yangshuo is the terminal of the 65 kilometer-long Li River cruise tour and is a beautiful and sedate ancient city. Some 1,600 years ago in the Jin Dynasty (265-420) the county seat wasmoved to Yangshuo from Xingping. The city has a history of more than 1,000 years.

Crisscrossed with rivers and streams the Yangshuo area is embraced by Li and Yulong River on the outskirts while the city is within the arms of the Dragon-head Hill, Duli and other peaks and hills. Yangshou is famous for its many mountains that are an intergral part of the cityscape. They form designs that have been inspirations of writers and artists for centuries. Xu Xiake, a famous traveler of the Ming Dynasty praised Yangshuo as "A world of green lotuses and jade bamboo-shoots."

Yanghsuo is also famous for its rich produce which includes sweet oranges, tangerine, pomelo, persimmon, chestnut and kumquat.

Silver Cave



Located at the foot of the Ligui Road of Lipu County , the Lipu Silver Cave Tourist Scenery Area is only about 85km from Guilin and 3km to Yangshuo.

The Silver Cave is a multi-storied karst cave. At present, about 2kilometers of the cave has been presented to tourists, including the lower cave, the grand hall and the upper cave. There many outstanding scenic spots:- the Waterfalls on Snow Hill, the Heavenly Screen of Music, the Deep Moon Palace, Three Treasures of the Buddha, The Pearl-decorated Umbrella and the Solitary Pillar Propping up the Sky.

The underground river which can be explored, winds its way through the mountain, full of twists and turns, mysterious and tranquil. Fisherman can be seen clearly in the still river water. The scenery on the river banks is picturesque. Tourists can sail to the Green Lake in the open air from the river.

Guilin Merryland World is a project built by Mr. Ma Zhi Lin. This project was planned a in 1992 and built in 1997. It is situated in Xinan about an hour from Guilin and covers an area of more than one thousand mu.

Cat Mountain



Cat Mountain also called Maoer Mountain, covers 481sq.km and has an altitude at the summit of 2141.5 meters. It is named Cat Mountain because people believe it looks like a cat. It is the highest mountain in south China and also the cradle land of Li River . The mountains here are grand and glorious and the scenery is magnificent. It is a nice combination of the glory of Mt. Tai , the steepness of Mt. Hua and the tranquility of Mt. Emei . Endangered species of vegetation, elfin woods and hemlock are found on the slopes of Cat Mountain . This is a great place to explore.
