'Webber didn't like new wing at first'
A senior Red Bull engineer has revealed that Mark Webber didn't like the new front wing when it was originally fitted to his car at Silverstone.
The right wing gave Red Bull's bosses plenty of headaches at the British Grand Prix after Webber hit out at the team for taking the new bodywork off his RB6 to put on team-mate Sebastian Vettel's car prior to qualifying.
Team principal Christian Horner insisted after the race that the wing change "was purely a technical decision" which he discussed with technical chief Adrian Newey.
An unnamed Red Bull source has shed some more light on the issue, telling Finland's Turun Sanomat that Webber didn't think the new wing made a big difference.
"I am very surprised by Mark's outburst. When he used the new front wing he complained that it didn't work much better than the old one. Mark didn't have a good feeling about the wing.
"However, when the team had only one left, Mark was desperate to get it despite the fact that he didn't care about it when we had two new wings.
"Unlike Mark, Sebastian was happy with the new wing right from the start. We believe that the team management's decision was reasoned and logical."
