Lee, alongside co-stars Han Chae-young and Kim Tae-woo, will team up with veteran director Lee Jae-kyu for the upcoming film. Lee Jae-kyu has previously helmed the popular television series "Da Mo," and "Beethoven Virus."
The series will be split into three 60-minute segments that will jump forwards and backwards in time over the span of 100 years from 1907 to 2007. Not much is known about the plot but according to the film's production company, the films will focus on themes which deal with the difficut choices people who are at a crossroads make in life and about characters trying to fulfill promises. The film will be penned by "Beethoven Virus" scribe Hong Jin-aah and will premiere online early March.
Hallyu star Lee Byung-hun is set to star in an online mystery film titled "The Influence", according to a press release by the film's producer Realize Pictures on Wednesday. Lee, 39, will play one of the main characters who has to make a choice on his path to fulfilling a promise made many years ago in the film set for release online in early March.
Lee Jae-kyu, who has created several hit TV series including "Damo" and "Beethoven Virus," will be making his directorial debut with "Influence." He will team with screenwriter Hong Jin-ah of "Beethoven" again for the three-part movie based on a time period covering 1907 to 2010.
Lee Byung-hun is considered one of Korea's top actors who has starred in numerous Korean dramas and films, including the recent blockbuster TV series "IRIS" for which he won the award for best actor at the 2009 KBS Acting Awards. He also debuted in Hollywood last year with a supporting role in "G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra" alongside Channing Tatum and Sienna Miller and starred in action thriller "I Come with the Rain" alongside Josh Hartnett and Takuya Kimura.

The last time we talked about Kim Ji-Woon's upcoming projects, it was regarding his first venture into Hollywood, a remake of Claude Sautet's 70s caper Max et Les Ferrailleurs. Hoping to cast Clive Owen and possibly Sienna Miller in the leading roles, Kim wanted his Max and the Junkmen to start shooting in January, as winter was the perfect atmosphere for his noir ambiance. Seems like the film has hit a snag - we still don't have much in the way of the details, but it might just be casting issues delaying the first shoot past that all important Q1 2010 deadline, pushing things to late next year - so Kim is now focusing on his next project at home, which is tentatively entitled 아열대의 밤 (lit. Subtropical Night).
The film continues the recent noir thriller trend, with a man chasing the serial killer-cum-psychopath who killed his fiancee, and plenty of brutal action ensuing afterwards. Choi Min-Shik was cast in the psychopath role, one of the most inspired choices of recent memory - and a return to major projects for Choi, who's had a pretty rough three-four years, and recently returned to Chungmuro with Jeon Soo-Il's low budget indie 히말라야, 바람이 머무는 곳 (Himalaya, Where the Wind Dwells). Also, Lee Byung-Heon has received an offer to play the "chaser" avenging his fiancee's death. His management confirmed the offer, but also said that because of Lee's Hollywood commitments (G.I. Joe 2), Kim would have to adapt his schedule in accordance. So, again, no ink spilled yet, but if these three get together, this baby could turn as hot as its working title suggests. As always, we'll refer to the English updates when and if available later but the gist in the Korean media today mentions that the sequel to GI Joe will start filming next year. As of now, the shooting schedule is yet to be finalized. At least this eases Byunghun-ssi's current schedule as the action-thriller 'I Saw the Devil' currently in post-production for the release in mid-August (tentatively August 12?) while waiting confirmation to be screened at the 67th Venice Film Festival in September.
Hollywood blockbuster 'GI Joe: The Rise of Cobra' which premiered worldwide in August 2009 had showcased a stunning performance by actor Lee Byung Hun as the Cobra Ninja Storm Shadow. Lee is expected to reprise his role in the 2012 sequel with a more significant starring role.

Actor Lee Byung-hun and singers 2PM and the Wonder Girls filmed separate television commercials for a special overseas promotion of Seoul City targeting specific countries.
Lee was selected for the Japanese version which started airing from Sunday. He presents the "Lively Touch" of Seoul by visiting Gwanghwamun, Cheonggye Stream, Myeong-dong and Seonyudo Park with Japanese tourists. He will be designated a global honorary ambassador of the capital city in August.
A commercial aired in China from June 28 is themed "Romantic Touch" Seoul, featuring girl group Wonder Girls as guest stars in an amusement park and restaurant. This version aims to show off the stylish and romantic parts of Seoul.
Popular idol group 2PM appeared in the "Fascinating Touch" Seoul version for Southeast Asian countries. In the commercial the six-member group plays with young visitors from the region and participates in cultural events held throughout Seoul.
The advertisement for America titled "Timeless Touch" portrays Seoul's 600 year history and the state-of-the-art information technology of the capital. A video of the filming of the commercials and interviews with the stars is available on YouTube.
"Influential 'hallyu,' (Korean wave), stars appear in these commercials for Seoul tourism and we expect a good response from the word of mouth spread by their fans," a city official said.
Seoul started overseas marketing in 2008 and tourists to the capital city increased 13.4 percent last year. "Seoul was ranked third in a list of 'The 31 Places to Go in 2010' by the New York Times in January and the preference for the city is continuously increasing as a result of overseas marketing," the official said.

Seoul city official announced on July 5 that Seoul city will broadcast four kinds of TV commercials to promote Seoul city in foreign countries, in which Hallyu stars such as Lee Byung Hun, Wonder Girls, and 2PM appear. The advertising commercials for Seoul city were made in order to inform the world of the attractiveness of Seoul city, and the contents and themes were differentiated by different regions targeting Japan, China, South-East Asian countries, and countries in Europe and the American continent.

Lee Byung Hun, who will be appointed as a global honorary ambassador of Seoul city, appeared in a promotion commercial to be broadcast in Japan. He showed off attractive and lively Seoul city by visiting places such as Gwanghwamun, Cheonggyecheon, Seonyudo Park, Apgujeong-dong, and Myeong-dong along with Japanese tourists, and the commercial used the theme of “Lively Touch” to show the overflowing passion, energy, pleasure, and vitality of Seoul.
The commercial for China focused on the romantic lifestyle of Seoul city with the theme of “Romantic Touch.” It was filmed like a romantic movie to reveal Seoul’s romantic and stylish lifestyle. In the commercial, members of the Wonder Girls made cameo appearances in scenes filmed at an amusement park and restaurant.

In a commercial for South-East Asian countries that used the theme of “Fascinating Touch” to present Hallyu culture and a fascinating exotic atmosphere, 2PM appeared with young people from South-East Asian countries and they enjoyed the culture of Seoul together. The commercial for Europe and America will introduce both the modern and traditional appearance of Seoul city under the theme of “Timeless Touch.” It shows the city transcending time and space by keeping cutting edge IT technology and the history of 600 years together.
The commercials began airing from June 28 in China and July 4 in Japan, and the TV commercials for South-East Asian and Europe and America will begin airing from the beginning of next month.
A video showing the filming of those commercials along with pictures of the star actor and singers and interview images will be provided online through YouTube.
”I Saw the Devil” is a highly anticipated movie thriller this summer. Directed by famous director Kim Jee-woon (The Good, The Bad, The Weird), this movie is starred by 2 actors with strong characters, Lee Byung Hun and Choi Min Shik. Other cast are Oh San Ha, Kim In-seo, Kim Yoon-seo, Nam Bo-ra.
Choi Min Shik and Lee Byung Hun, both are premier Korean actor domestically and internationally. This movie is Choi Min Sik's reunion with Director Kim Jee-woon after their first collaboration 12 years ago in the 1998 horror film boom ‘The Quiet Family”.
The story is about a serial killer (played by Choi Min Shik) who kill for pleasure, who one day choose a wrong, very wrong victim. He killed a daughter of a retired police chief. Then the fiance of the victim, a secret agent (played by Lee Byung Hun) track the serial killer and plot a revenge.
The confrontation between the brutal serial killer and the angered-full of revenge secret agent is very intense, bloody and frightening.
