Sechs Kies Holds First Official Solo Concert In 16 Years
Veteran group Sechs Kies stands together onstage once more.
YG Entertainment announced that the group successfully wrapped up the two nights of their concert “Yellow Note” at the Olympic Gymnastics Arena in Seoul with 20,000 fans. The concerts took place on September 10 and 11. While they previously held a surprise guerilla concert through MBC’s “Infinite Challenge,” this marks the group’s first official solo concert in 16 years.
Earlier this year, the group had a dramatic reunion through “Infinite Challenge,” signed an exclusive contract with YG Entertainment, and began their preparations for a full-fledged comeback.
The agency states, “The members practiced day and night without fail in order to stage a perfect show for their fans who have eagerly waited for their reunion. Since this solo concert signifies the return of Sechs Kies, YG’s producers, including founder Yang Hyun Suk, and numerous staff members have all taken responsibility for it.”
Yang Hyun Suk was reportedly constantly present and spearheaded all the preparations from meetings to rehearsals. YG Entertainment reveals, “To improve the quality of the show, Mr. Yang proposed many ideas and attended all the rehearsals with the members, displaying his special fondness for Sechs Kies. He personally went on stage to check the flow of the program as well as meticulously inspect the venue, and was consistently cheering on the members.”
The agency adds, “Lee Jae Jin exhibited his talent and was directly involved in producing the animation screened during the concert, as well as in the designing the merchandise that were sold.”
During the concert, the group also revealed their new song “Three Words” and showed various performances specially prepared for the fans.
Fans in attendance received yellow balloons and notebooks to keep as special mementos of the event.
Following the conclusion of “Yellow Note,” Sechs Kies is set to make their long-awaited full comeback.

A Dream Come True for SECHSKIES’ Fans

SECHSKIES fans are happier than every these days. SECHSKIES got reunited in 16 years, and the group even held their very first solo concert. On top of all this, they even released a new song. This was indeed a dream come true for the fans.
At 3:30 PM on September 11, a press conference was held before SECHSKIES’ concert “YELLOW NOTE” kicked off at the Seoul Olympic Stadium. EUN JI WON, KANG SUNG HOON, JANG SU WON, KIM JAE DUCK, and LEE JAE JIN stood together before the reporters for the first time after their disbandment.
SECHSKIES reunited after appearing in Infinite Challenge’s Saturday Saturday is a Singer 2 earlier this year. Then, they signed a management contract with YG Entertainment and prepared for their comeback. They will promote their new single “THREE WORDS”, which is made by TABLO, until the end of this year.
EUN JI WON said, “We want to go on music shows and programs like ‘Weekly Idol’. We are willing to do whatever if we can do it. That will keep us busy for the rest of the year. Next year is our 10th anniversary so we want to do a concert. We have a lot of plans.”
He went on to say, “We’re having fun and we’re happy. In the old days, the composers were much older than us, but now they’re younger and it’s more fun. It was the first time that we had fun while recording a song. The lyrics of our new song are very easy to relate to. I think it will be a big present for our fans.”
SECHSKIES made preparations to have their very first solo concert before recording the new song. They are not young, the average age of the members is 37.7, but they practiced day and night so that they don’t let their fans down.
Members said, “Maybe it’s because of age, but we were sweating so much from the very beginning of the concert yesterday. Because it has been such a long time, we weren’t able to control the pace. We went full pace too early, from the beginning. At some point, I almost felt I would faint any minute.”
The title of this concert is“YELLOW NOTE”. The last album of SECHSKIES that was released 16 years ago was called “BLUE NOTE”. To express that SECHSKIES wants to continue writing their uncompleted story, they named the concert “YELLOW NOTE”. SECHSKIES will sing their hit songs at the concert, which will be a pleasant walk down the memory lane for the fans.
Music is powerful in that it brings back many memories. The power of SECHSKIES’ music will be demonstrated at the concert.

Sechskies' Kang Sung Hoon rushed to the emergency room right after concert
Sechskies' Kang Sung Hoon has been rushed to the emergency room right after their concert.
On the 11th, Sechskies had 'Yellow Note,' their first concert in 16 years. During the concert, Kang Sung Hoon hurt his toe during "Reckless Love." However, he stood on stage throughout the entire concert, including the encore. He was rushed to the hospital in an ambulance right after the concert was finished.
He is currently being examined in a hospital, and there is no full diagnosis yet. Hopefully he's okay!
