Italy's seven-time MotoGP champion Valentino Rossi is contemplating retiring after the 2014 season.

Before he quits, the 32-year-old is keen to bring success to his Ducati team and wants to extend his contract before it expires at the end of 2012.

Rossi, who won his last title in 2009, said: "I want a new two-year contract with Ducati, maybe the last, and then I'll think about how to enjoy myself.

"I want to win something here, make Ducati grow and then stop."

Last year, Rossi failed to win a MotoGP race for the first time in his career as he finished in seventh place in the championship.

He has won nine championships, seven in the premier class, including five consecutive titles from 2001-05 and two more in 2008 and 2009, riding for Honda and Yamaha.

After the winter break, team riders Casey Stoner and Dani Pedrosa returned to the media spotlight refreshed and eager to start the new season. Alongside them were HRC team bosses, Shuhei Nakamoto (HRC Executive Vice President), Hideki Iwano (Director, Assistant to Team Principal), Shinichi Kokubu (Technical Director) and Livio Suppo (Communications and Marketing Director). This was also the first opportunity for the media to see the new RC213V bike complete with 2011 World Champion, Casey Stoner's number '1' emblazoned on the front.

The team arrived in Malaysia on Saturday and returned to the Sepang track on Sunday for the first time since Marco Simoncelli's tragic accident in the race on 23rd October. As a mark of respect, the whole team visited the corner where Marco lost his life, laid a wreath of flowers and held a minutes silence.

This season the MotoGP world returns to 1000cc bikes and HRC head into the 2012 season determined to retain the World Championship.

Yamaha Factory Racing Enters Partnership Contract with New Official Sponsor

Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd. has entered into contract with JX Nippon Oil & Energy Corporation (Headquarters: Tokyo, Japan). The agreement welcomes the oil and energy company as a new Official Sponsor of Yamaha Factory Racing's premier class Team competing in the MotoGP World Championship.

Yamaha Factory Racing continues in 2012 with 2010 World Champion Jorge Lorenzo (ranked 2nd in 2011), and Texan team mate Ben Spies, now starting his third season of full MotoGP competition and poised for even greater success (ranked 5th in 2011). The YZR-M1 factory machine they will compete on is newly developed with an increased 1000cc engine displacement in line with the new regulations (up from 800cc last season). The partnership with JX Nippon Oil & Energy Corporation commences on January 31st in conjunction with the first official test session of 2012 at the Sepang circuit in Malaysia.
