Samsung Galaxy Note II expected in October with a 5.5-inch 1680×1050 display, Cortex-A15 processor
A follow-up to the popularSamsung Galaxy Note is expected in October with a slightly larger screen and much faster dual-core Cortex-A15 processor. While we don’t know the design, UbuntuLife, based on information received by a trusted source, threw together a mockup design for what it could look like. Samsung recently announced the Note had sold 7 million devices worldwide, a huge number when you consider there was no real target market for the device. Neither a phone or a tablet, the “phablet” was derided as too big for most users, but found a pretty wide niche for those who wanted to use the handset with its Wacom Digitizer-powered S Pen. The Galaxy Note II is looking to up more than the screen size, however: the resolution is set to increase by 30%, to 1680×1050 pixels, and a next-generation Cortex-A15 chip to double the performance while minimizing battery usage. The exact chipset looks to be the previously-announcedExynos 5250, but that remains to be seen. LTE support is expected in North America, though we hope by then it is integrated on chip with the Exynos processor. Look for 1.5GB-2GB of RAM and a similar 8MP camera to what we have in the current Galaxy S III. What do you think?
