Man City keeper Hart studying Real Madrid captain Casillas
Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart admits he models his game on Real Madrid captain Iker Casillas.
Hart, 25, has been City's most consistent player in their title tussle with Manchester United and is one of six nominees for the PFA Player of the Year.
"I'm trying to work out exactly how Casillas manages to react to what the forward does, instead of trying to force the striker into a decision, like I have done until now," said Hart.
"It's better doing it his way, using your reflexes rather than trying to anticipate what is going to happen. I'm working on it - it's something I need to learn.
"In our league you know the forward will favour power over placement, so you can make yourself big and be fairly sure that he's going to shoot where you are covering.
"But more and more I'm coming across different strikers or styles of play that require just what Casillas has; quick decision-making and quick reflexes." |

Italy coach Prandelli says Man City's Balotelli will make Euros squad
Italy coach Cesare Prandelli says he'll take Manchester City striker Mario Balotelli to the Euros.
Balotelli risked being frozen out after the red card against Arsenal, but his public apology impressed.
“Have I made peace with Balotelli? Yes, although to be honest we never argued in the first place,” Prandelli told RAI television.
“I was pleased that he took responsibility with his statements after the latest incident at Manchester City. I like those who stand up and accept responsibility for their actions.
“I never really thought of doing without Balotelli, as he is a firm point in this Nazionale.” |
