betul.. its not that difficult

takpun soh TMJ jer arahkan gerenti laju jerrr diaorang jalan

aku rasa Sultan Johor yg skarang dan Tengku Majid ni minat hoki... TMJ tu lebih suka bola... sebab glamor..

lagipun pegawai JHA dah ada pengalaman manage, coordinate and execute world class hockey tournament saban tahun..
so kat situ dah ada advantage....

FIVE MATCHES AHEAD OF AZLAN SHAH CUPThe national hockey team will play five matches ahead of the 22nd edition of the Sultan Azlan Shah Cup.

Coach Paul Revington said that three of the matches will be against Ireland while another two are against defending Azlan Shah Cup champions New Zealand.

The three matches against Ireland will be played between 10-14 February in Bukit Jalil, who
E the two  against New Zealand are tentatively scheduled between 24-26 February also at the National Stadium in Bukit Jalil.

"The additional plans are still dependent on discussions with other countries as we are trying to piece programs together and fit calendars together, " said Revington.

On the state on injuries in the national team, Revington disclosed that two players, Izwan Firdaus and Hafifihafiz Hanafi were still injured.

"Izwan Firdaus is out for at least another month from now while Hafifi is  going to have an operation on his knee at end of the month. Both will likely miss the Azlan Shah Cup as a result," said Revington.

The coach added that the proposed specialist coaches program to be attached to the national team is an ongoing process working with the NSC and the budget process for 2013.

"We are aiming to get the goalkeeper coach out to Malaysia sometime during February, while we would like to debut a flicking coach too before the end of February if possible," added Revington.

Meredith reveals Ireland squad for World League 2Coach names the 18 players that will compete in New Delhi

Ireland Men’s Coach Andrew Meredith has named an 18 man squad for the upcoming FIH World League 2 tournament in India. The seven top placed teams across the four World League 2 tournaments will join hosts Malaysia in World League 3 in June 2013
.
The Green Machine will begin their preparations for World League 2 by heading to Malaysia on the 8th February where they will play three warm up games against Malaysia before flying on to New Delhi on the 14th February. Ireland last played Malaysia in December 2012 when Peter Caruth struck a golden goal to seal a 2-1 victory and claim the Bronze medal at the FIH Champions Challenge 1 in Quilmes, Argentina.

Following a training camp last weekend in Ulster, Meredith has named an experienced squad for FIH World League 2 in India. The coach has drafted in Phelie Maguire, Peter Brown & Alan Sothern to the Green Machine Squad. While Brown has yet to be capped at this level both Maguire & Sothern are experienced Internationals having represented Ireland on 103 & 54 occasions respectively.
Meredith has also had to make his plans without three players who were involved in Champions Challenge 1. John Jermyn & Andy McConnell are both unavailable due to employment commitments while Timothy Cockram is due to be married.

Shortly after announcing the squad, Green Machine coach Andrew Meredith said: “It's clearly a very exciting opportunity for those who have been selected to go and compete in the New Delhi tournament.
“At this critical stage of the qualification process our goal is pretty clear, with only the top 2 countries progressing to the following round of Semi-Finals in the summer. The World League 2 presents not only a challenge to the playing group in as far as acclimatising to unique environmental and cultural factors, but it represents an opportunity to experience playing in a country, where hockey has an incredibly large following while playing in a stadium that has a capacity of 20,000 spectators.”

Meredith continued: “The selection of the team represents and reflects the recent training camp performances, with experienced players re-enforcing that not only do they still have the ability to play international hockey, but they are still hungry to progress and develop. There is also a number of young players that have begun to identify themselves and show that they have the potential to add to the competition for Senior squad places which, moving forward over the coming World Cup cycle, will be a key element in the sustainability of our current performance level and long term evolution of the playing group.”

Hockey World League Semi-Finals take shapeNetherlands and Malaysia announced as host nations

The FIH today  confirmed the hosts and dates of three Hockey World League Semi-Final  tournaments, which will all take place between June 13 and July 7. These will kick off in the Netherlands, which will host a  joint men’s and women’s tournament from June 13-23 in Rotterdam.  The second men's Hockey World  League Semi-Finals will be held in Johor Bahru,  Malaysia from June 29-July 7. The host and dates of the second women's semi-final tournament will be announced shortly.
The four  Semi-Finals will have eight teams each. The top eight men’s and women’s teams in  the FIH World Rankings at the beginning of 2011 are automatically qualified for  the Hockey World League Semi-Final.
In Rotterdam,  the four men’s teams that are confirmed to play are Australia, the Netherlands,  Spain and New Zealand. They will be joined by four teams who win their way  through from Round 2.The Semi-Final in Malaysia has five teams confirmed as  Malaysia earned an automatic berth as the host nation. Joining Malaysia will be  Germany, England, Pakistan and Korea along with three teams from Round 2.  Malaysia had been scheduled to play in the Round 2 tournament in Elektrostal,  Russia, at the end of May and their place in that tournament will now be taken  by the Czech Republic.
The four  women’s teams that are confirmed to play in Rotterdam are the Netherlands, New  Zealand, Germany and Korea, while the teams confirmed for the other Semi-Final tournament are Argentina,  England, Australia and China. At both venues, the four qualified teams will be  joined by four other teams that qualify from Round 2.
Originally it  was announced that Germany would host joint Hockey World League Semi-Final  tournaments in late June. However, due to financial restrictions, the Germans  announced that they would be unable to host three major international events  within a one-month span.

The Germans are the host of the Women’s Junior World  Cup, which is being held in Mönchengladbach between 27 July and 4 August. As a  result of the German’s decision, the second Semi-Final tournaments were split  between Malaysia and another host nation.
“We are pleased  that we can put our Hockey World League Semi-Final tournaments in  the capable hands of these fine host nations,” said FIH President Leandro Negre.  “There is not a doubt in my mind that the month of June will be historic and  fantastic for our sport. I would especially like to thank Malaysia  for stepping into host on short notice. It is further evidence of the spirit of  cooperation that we enjoy in international hockey.”
The Hockey  World League Round 2 recently kicked off with a women’s five-team tournament in  Cape Town, South Africa. Host South Africa and Belgium became the first two  teams earn a spot in the Hockey World League Semi-Final through the  qualification process. They will be slotted into a Semi-Final based on the World  Ranking of the other teams that qualify from the Round 2 events. Belgium is the  first team to make it to the Semi-Finals after playing in both Round 1 and Round  2 tournaments.

German wall in Johor Baru..

WORLD No 1 Germany will be the least of Malaysia’s headache when Johor Baru hosts the Hockey World League Semi-Final on June 29-July 7.
For, the International Hockey Federation confirmed that joining Malaysia, at No 13, to qualify for the 2014 World Cup will be World No 4 England, No 5 Pakistan and No 7 South Korea. Three more teams will join the Johor Baru scramble for seats after the Round Two tournament.
Malaysia had been scheduled to play in the Round Two tournament in Elektrostal, Russia, at the end of May but after Germany could not host the semi-finals, Malaysia took over the task and were thrown face first into the lions den.
“I would especially like to thank Malaysia for stepping into host on short notice. It is further evidence of the spirit of cooperation that we enjoy in international hockey,” said FIH President Leandro Negre.
The World Cup will be held at The Hague, Holland on June 2-15. The cast will be made up of the hosts, Five Continental champions and six  teams from the two World League Semi-finals.
The other World League Semi-finals would be held in the Netherlands on June 13-23 in Rotterdam and the confirmed teams are Australia, the Netherlands, Spain and New Zealand.
Eight teams will play in each of the semi-finals, and if Malaysia fail to be among the top three teams in Johor Baru, there is another chance in the Asia Cup to be hosted by Ipoh.

Our women gunning for glory in World LeagueBy ALLAN NETTO
Mohd Nasihin Nubli

THE Malaysian women’s squad are all set for the second round of the World League which starts on Feb 18 in New Delhi, India.
The International Hockey Federation (FIH) introduced the new tournament last August and Malaysia played host to the first round of the league in September in Kuantan where they emerged champions.
Kazakhstan were second. The other two teams were Sri Lanka and Singapore.
The league doubles up as a qualifier for the World Cup and Olympics. There are four main groups in the World League and the entire tournament for one place in the World Cup is a lengthy process.
Malaysia, ranked world No. 22 and Kazakhstan (33) booked their tickets for the second round where they will be pitted against Japan (9), India (11), Russia (20), and Fiji (59).
The top two teams from this round will qualify for the third round in Rotterdam, Holland, starting June 13.
They will be joined by the top two teams from each of the other three World League groups playing in South Africa, Brazil and Spain. Also in will be eight teams in the FIH ranking, making it a total of 16 teams.
They will be divided into two groups with the top four finishers from each group progressing into the final round.
Again, the teams will be divided into two groups and the champions of the final round will automatically gain a spot in the 2014 World Cup.
“We have a good chance of qualifying for the third round. The girls are well prepared and if we don’t get carried away, we can finish on top in India,” said national women’s team coach Mohd Nasihin Nubli.
Malaysia will open their campaign against Russia on Feb 18, a team they last played at the 2011 Champions Challenge 2 in Belgium where they lost 2-1 for the fifth and sixth place play-offs.
“Our main concern will be Japan and I believe the games against Russia, Kazakhstan and Fiji are must-win ones.
“The matches against India and Japan will be close and to have a chance, we need to win the rest,” said Nasihin.
Malaysia play India on Feb 19 and will only face Japan in their last game on Feb 24.
Malaysia’s last meeting with Japan is one they want to forget as they were handed an 8-0 drubbing by the Japanese at the 2012 Olympic qualifiers.
“We have come a long way since then and it will be an advantage for us to play them last.
Although Japan have only retained five players from the Olympic qualifiers, they are still a force to be reckoned with,” said Nasihin.
Malaysia will depart for India on Feb 13 and are scheduled to play Russia in a friendly on Feb 15.
“We will look to sharpen our game against Russia and are also in talks with the Indian squad for a friendly,” added Nasihin.

Siti Nor Amarina Ruhani

SITI NOR AMARINA RUHANI and Fazilla Sylvester Silin’s three month stint in the Spanish Hockey League with Castelldefels Hockey Club will benefit Malaysia in the World Hockey League Round 2 from Feb 18-24 in New Delhi, India.
Amarina and Fazilla have been the pillars for the Spanish club who are second in Division Two.
Forward Fazilla is the club’s top scorer with 14 goals while Amarina, who plays in defence, has two goals after completing the first half of the league from Sept 30-Dec 16 2012.
“It has been a good outing in Spain. We have learned a lot and improved in the past three months.
“We have contributed a lot to the team and hope to do the same with the national squad,” said Amarina.
The duo will return to Spain after their national duty for the second round of the Spanish League in March.
“My main priority now would be the World League and securing the top two spot is vital for us.
“We have been working really hard towards this and we won’t let it slip away,” added the 26 year-old.
Amarinah’s Spanish stint also sees the 26 year-old coaching the Under-12 Castelldefels boys.
“The boys are very committed to the sport and coaching is new to me but I am certainly enjoying It.” added Amarinah.
Malaysia have been pitted against Japan, India, Russia, Fiji and Kazakhstan for the second round of the World League and Amarinah sees world No. 9 Japan as the biggest threat.
The squad will depart to India on Feb 13 and play Russia in a friendly on Feb 15.

World League Round 2 heads to IndiaAll games from Delhi to be televised and streamed live

February 12th, 2013

In less than a week, the Hockey World League moves to New Delhi, India for the Hero Hockey World League Round 2 tournament from February 18-23. Fresh on the heels of the successful Hockey India League, six men’s and six women’s teams will take to field to earn a berth to the Hockey World League Semi-Finals in June.
Adding to the excitement is the announcement that Ten Sports will be televising all of the matches from both tournaments across the Sub Continent. For those outside the region, all games will be streamed live on fih.ch. In addition there will be daily highlights packages and feature stories available on the FIH website.
On the men’s side, the Hero Hockey World League Round 2 will be the first-ever time that the national team of Bangladesh hits the airwaves. #40 Bangladesh enters the tournament as one of the Cinderella entries joined by #71 Fiji and #36 Oman. The tournament is sure to be an exciting experience for both teams.
At the other end of the spectrum is 15th-ranked Ireland and #11 India who are set to duke it out for the tournament title and the berth to the next round. China is the dark horse of the group and has the potential to play the role of spoiler, entering as the 18th-ranked team in the FIH World Ranking.

The women’s competition is also essentially a two-team race with ninth-ranked Japan entering as the big favorite followed by 12th-ranked India. Japan enters the event level as the highest-possible ranked team in Round 2, with the cutoff for an automatic spot in the Semi-Final being the top eight teams in the FIH World Ranking.
Russia, Malaysia and Kazakhstan are all sure to be quite competitive weighing in between #20 and #33 in the FIH World Ranking. Rounding out the women’s pool is #59 Fiji.

Monday February 18, 2013Malaysia face tough task against Russia in opener
KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian women’s hockey team will face a difficult task against bigger built Russian team in the opening match in round two of the World League tournament at the Major Dhyanchand National Stadium in New Delhi today.
The other teams in the competition are world No. 9th ranked Japan, hosts India (12th), Kazakhstan (33rd) and Fiji (59th).
The World League was introduced last year for teams to earn their places for next year’s World Cup.
The top two finishers in New Delhi will qualify for the semi-finals schedule for either June or July.
Malaysia, ranked 22nd, last played Russia, ranked 20th, in the Champions Challenge II in Kazan, Russia in 2010 and the national team lost 2-1.
Malaysia played a friendly match against Russia last Friday and also lost 1-0.
However, an upbeat National coach Mohd Nasihin Nubli said in a telephone interview said: “Although the Russian players are physically bigger, it does not matter as we are physically fitter. We are confident of upsetting the Russians.
“Nothing is impossible. Although the conditions here are quite chilly, my players are all fired up for the match. We need to play a tight marking game and must not make too many mistakes.”
Malaysia also lost 1-0 in their second friendly against Japan on Saturday.
Nasihin said skipper Nadia Abdul Rahman would play a double role in the tournament.
“She will not only marshal the midfield but will also play as a striker. Our mission is to finish in the top two,” said Nasihin.
Malaysia’s women’s hockey team have never featured in the World Cup.

Namun, perlawanan persahabatan yg terbaru, kita tewas dgn Jepun hanya 0-1..
Russia, mmg kita tak nafikan mempunyai tubuh yg bagak...
