Ooops... satu lagi soalan... ini dari Encik Plato... Katanya seniman semuanya patut dihalau keluar republiknya, kerana mereka cumalah pendusta... apa sebenarnya guna sastera, tanya Plato? Tulisan hanyalah bayangan daripada kewujudan sebenar, sebagai contoh, deskripsi kasut hanyalah bayangan kasut yang boleh kita lihat, ia tidak boleh disentuh atau dipakai.
Begitu juga dengan moral, kenapa perlu bertanya pada penulis jika kita boleh terus bertemu dengan para filosuf?

Certain works of literature present great ideas that have existed in various cultures throughout time and still exist in our culture today. By reading literature that deals with these great ideas, we see common areas of concern and how different times and diverse cultures have thought alike as well as how they have thought differently about these issues.

Another consideration is allusions, which are references to past literature or history. These are examples of that common body of knowledge shared by educated people within one culture. Allusions may be to the work itself. By this I mean that we often hear references (allusions) to a literary classic, which means a work of literature that is meaningful anytime and anywhere.
One more is values clarification. There are many works of literature that help readers clarify for themselves exactly what matters most to them personally, in other words, their values and standards |

Macam Shakespeare... bukan sahaja ciplak karya orang... tapi dapat darfi second hand evidence... dan kebanyakannya fiksyen!!!!

barulah kisah benar seseorg...
apa yg dikaji adalah paparan
zaman yg dibuat dlm karya
sastera tersebut..kalau tiada
karya sastera...juga bhn sejarah
tentulah kita tidak akan tahu
tentang sesuatu zaman seperti
zaman Victoria contohnya... |
