STUDENTS pursuing a career in medicine need not fret or worry over the cost of a medical degree at Allianze University College of Medical Sciences (AUCMS).

Its chief executive officer Datuk Dr Zainuddin Md Wazir said that AUCMS has a medical education fund to allocate for students who are qualified to study medicine but lack the necessary funds.

“We offer two types of assistance – full scholarships and conversions of loans for students,” he said.

In regard to full scholarships, students with good results can apply for a full scholarship by AUCMS for the duration of their studies.

“Alternatively, they can apply for a study loan. If they get good results, they can apply to have the loan converted into a scholarship,” he said.

Dr Zainuddin said that the scholarships were for all Malaysians who obtain a minimum of three credits in SPM for diploma courses and five credits for degree courses.

“Everyone can pursue a degree in medical sciences if they are qualified to do so,” he said.

He said this after presenting a mock cheque of RM15,000 to The Star senior regional manager (operations) David Yeoh as part of its sponsorship towards The Star Education Fair 2013.
