GEORGE TOWN: A Hungarian man was fined RM2,500 in default four months’ jail by a Magistrate’s Court here for dishonestly retaining stolen property of two credit cards. Mihaly Magashazi, 61, pleaded guilty on Wednesday to dishonestly retaining the stolen credit cards belonging to one Desmond Melvin at G Hotel in Persiaran Gurney at around 1.50pm on Jan 23. The offence, under Section 411 of the Penal Code, carries a maximum jail sentence of five years or a fine, or both, upon conviction. Deputy public prosecutor Nur Farhana Hashim prosecuted while Magashazi was unrepresented.
