Eminem: Still In Love With Kim

Eminem apparently still in love with ex wife Kim

When Kim Mathers, the ex-wife of hip-hop star Eminem, pled guilty to
cocaine possession in Macomb County Circuit Court in Mt. Clemens,
Mich., on Dec. 18, it was the latest chapter in the rapper's baby-
mama drama. However, despite Kim's recent troubles and the couple's
volatile marital breakup, Eminem's grandfather Bob Nelson tells Star
the 31-year-old superstar is "still in love with her -- I guess it's
unconditional love." Nelson points out that Kim is the mother of Em's
daughter, Hailie, 8, and even though the couple divorced in 2001,
surprisingly, Kim still lives with Eminem.

"That shows he still cares deeply for Kim and her well-being," adds
Todd Nelson, Em's uncle. "Plus, it's important to him that Kim is
around, so she can be a presence in her daughter's life." Adds
Bob, "Everyone in our family is pulling for her. We all wish her the
best in her journey to straighten out."

As Star reported exclusively in our Dec. 23 issue, Mathers fled to
Cancun, Mexico, where she threatened suicide after skipping two
mandatory court appearances on Nov. 4 and Nov. 6. "Drugs have a hold
on her, and it hasn't been easy for her to kick the habit," Bob
says. "But Kim is a strong person, and I believe with the right help,
she'll overcome her demons."

[b]Eminem Goes on the Attack

Leaked tracks target Benzino, the president and Irv Gotti

Five unreleased tracks by Eminem have leaked out in the last two
months, and they show Slim Shady in fighting form.
In mid-November, The Source magazine released a tape of a fifteen-
year-old Eminem freestyle in which he insulted black women. (The
rapper later explained it was directed at an ex-girlfriend.) A few
weeks later, some unfinished demos hit the Web that found Marshall
Mathers taking on old foes Benzino and Canibus, as well as
tangentially swiping at the president -- this offense earned him the
momentary attention of the Secret Service (the agency later dismissed
the investigation).

Eminem's latest lyrical barbs:

"We As Americans": An on-probation Eminem advocates for his
constitutional right to bear arms and spits the line that initially
attracted the attention of the Secret Service: "***** money/I don't
rap for dead presidents/I'd rather see the president dead." Em's
spokesman claims this was an unfinished track.

"Bully": A vicious skewering of Benzino that surprisingly never saw
light during the height of Eminem's battle with him last year. After
a few verses aimed at the Source co-owner -- "He has no fortune and
wealth/So he extorts someone else to get his dough" -- Em takes stabs
at Irv Gotti and Ja Rule for good measure.

"Can-I-Bitch": Set to the tune of Slick Rick's "Children's Story,"
this whimsical jab at Canibus posits the one-time lyrical foe of LL
Cool J as a "Stan"-like obsessed rapper with a short fuse and shorter
talent.

"I Love You More": Presumably from the battles-with-Kim files, this
track finds Em alternately tender and scarily violent toward an
unnamed female partner: "Do you hate me?/Good, 'cause you're so
****** beautiful when you're angry."

"Monkey See, Monkey Do": Despite barbs such as "We playing chess/You
playing checkers," no specific target is named in the vicious, grim-
sounding song.

baguslah.. itulah yg diharapkan. lagipun dia nie bergantung banyak kepada peminat black, sbb once white diss black in hip-hop industry, they'll be dissed and dismissed by the whole community.

What Eminem taught New Yorker critic Denby, after the fall

The premise of New Yorker movie reviewer David Denby's sober memoir
about losing a whole lotta money in the stock market sounds like a
slo-mo Upper West Side version of the Holly-wood actioners the
aesthetically conservative critic eschews. Faced with the loss of his
beloved classic seven when his wife, novelist Cathleen Schine, leaves
him, Denby gives himself one year to muster a cool million and buy
out her share of the "gold mine."

Title aside, the results of his lopsided investments in the tech
sector during the new millennium's bear years ("a wild, dangerous,
and, finally, tragic era") are a foregone conclusion you may already
have read about in scientific sucker John Allen Paulos's A
Mathematician Plays the Stock Market or Jewish sucker Rabbi Benjamin
Blech's Taking Stock: A Spiritual Guide to Rising Above Life's
Financial Ups and Downs. And this isn't the first time Denby has
squeezed literary lemonade out of despair: An earlier midlife crisis
resulted in 1996's Great Books, his well-intentioned slog through a
pair of Columbia humanities courses he'd taken 30 years earlier.

Man and market walk hand in invisible hand in American Sucker.
Internet porn and a couple of post-separation affairs cause Denby's
libido to spike and (mostly) dip. He befriends eventually disgraced
Wall Street analyst Henry Blodget and eventually imprisoned ImClone
founder Sam Waksal, fluttering in their reflected glory like New York
magazine gadfly Michael Wolff without the ironic armor. Taking
himself as seriously as he does, Denby sometimes comes off as a West
Side William Bennett, mixing top-down virtue with an uptown gambling
problem. But who, in the end, is the greater fool? Not Denby, who
finally adopts the Real Simple lifestyle in lieu of paper wealth,
makes a bundle on the apartment, and discovers "renewal forged out of
economic failure" in a little movie called 8 Mile. Take that, sucker
VCs!

Mag releases controversial Eminem clips

They used to like him.

In March of 1998, when Eminem was first getting a little buzz, the
Source magazine gave him props in its much-celebrated "Unsigned Hype"
section. After he was signed by Interscope Records, the magazine
nominated him for multiple Source awards and championed him as the
first white hip-hop artist of significance.

People who hadn't given hip-hop music a second thought bought the
Detroit rapper's CD by the multimillions.

They loved the rapper's sound, his flow and his story.

He became an MTV staple and every record he put out shot to the top
of the charts.

That's when the folks behind the Source magazine, which for 15 years
has been regarded as one-stop shopping for everything hip-hop, got
mad. They felt that Eminem's sales were hurting black artists,
something they saw as especially hurtful in a culture created by
blacks. Thus began a feud - though the magazine doesn't call it that -
that continues, and perhaps is escalating, to this day.

The magazine's February issue came out Monday, and David Mays, the
Source's CEO, promises hip-hop fans will be shocked at the
information they've dug up on the Eminem. Included in the edition is
a CD that contains snippets of raps Eminem made - before he was a
star - that include derogatory comments about black women. Exactly
when they were made is disputed, though they caused a stir when the
Source played them at a November news conference and posted them on
its Web site.

The article talks about the rapper's early career, and Mays says
they've collected a lot of evidence that suggests that he may not be
sensitive to the black community and issues of race.

The piece is part of a buildup of verbal attacks that have included
racial accusations, record deal breakups and questions of street
credibility.

Raymond Scott, who raps under the moniker Benzino, is best friends
with Mays and is closely affiliated with the Source. Through
underground mixtapes and his own CD, he has traded barbs with the
Detroit rapper and his label, Shady Records, for most of 2003.

Scott called Eminem a "rap David Duke, a rap Hitler, a culture-
stealer," and was pictured in the Source holding Em's head.

Eminem fired back, calling Benzino the "softest, fakest wanna-be
gangster in New York."

Interscope Records, the label Eminem and Dr. Dre record for, pulled
its ads from the magazine and refuses to talk to reporters there.

It wasn't long after that, according to Mays, three "white kids from
Detroit" came to the Source offices with the tapes that the magazine
is now releasing.

Lawyers for Eminem tried to block the release of the recordings,
saying that distributing the CD violated copyright laws. But last
month, a federal judge ruled that the Source could make available up
to 20 seconds of the two previously unreleased works.

Eminem has said he made the recording "out of anger, stupidity and
frustration" after breaking up with a girlfriend who was black.

The Source's investigation and report, Mays says, are in an effort to
save hip-hop from suburban America.

"The Source has always been on the front lines to defend hip-hop from
its attackers," says Mays, who is white. "We're the only ones that
understood hip-hop ... and we're able to report on it and understand
its point of view. We're trying to save the greatness of hip-hop
culture."

It really isn't just about Eminem, Mays says. It's hip-hop's
integrity that they're really concerned about.

He points out that black innovators were not credited for their part
in creating rock 'n' roll, and says he would hate to see that happen
to hip-hop.

"Eminem is the major force being used to help redefine for mainstream
America what hip-hop is," Mays says. "And as long as they continue to
think hip-hop is what he represents and what he projects, they will
no longer be supportive of what real hip-hop is."

Eminem has apologized in statements, saying that his lyrics were
young and foolish.

"Dave Mays and Benzino are spitting in the face of what hip-hop and
rap music have done to promote racial unity," Eminem said in a
statement. "Their attempt to use this old, foolish recording to
damage me and, in turn, the positivity that hip-hop promotes is
really nothing more than blatant self-promotion for a failing
magazine and one man's lifeless music career. They're scared of what
can happen if the hip-hop community shows it can live without them."

New York entertainment attorney Michael Friedman, says that the judge
made the "appropriate" decision when ruling to let the magazine
distribute partial recordings of the songs.

However, the intensity behind the investigative report is what stands
out for Friedman, an entertainment partner with the New York City
office of the national law firm Jenkens & Gilchrist Parker Chapin.

Friedman, an expert in entertainment law, has worked with several
independent record companies on MP3.com and Napster litigations, in
addition to being an expert on licensing.

"It is unusual the degree to which they are forcing the issue and
putting this out there into the public. As a music industry and
cultural publication, they certainly have the right to do it,"
Friedman says. "Whether the public is interested in this is yet to be
determined. But they certainly are within their rights and the domain
of their market to develop this story. It's all very interesting and
it balances a lot of competing interests."

Mays says he's hoping to educate the masses about the current poster
child of hip-hop through the magazine piece.

"We're battling for the future of hip-hop. If we don't continue, hip-
hop will be lost. It will go the way of rock 'n' roll," Mays
says. "It will no longer be an African-American and Latino art form.
One of the great things about hip-hop is its ability to unite the
races and to destroy racism."

But is he convinced that Eminem is a racist?

"At the time he made the songs, I do believe he had very strong
racist views," Mays says. "It is conceivable through the greatness of
hip-hop that he changed these ignorant perspectives. Maybe he's
learned that those views are wrong and ignorant. But I don't know
that. He's not talking. He's hiding behind prepared statements from
his people. He doesn't have the courtesy for the community to even
speak out about it."

Then again, he might. Later this month, Eminem will be on the cover
of XXL magazine - the Source's direct competition - addressing the
songs and the things Mays and Benzino have been accusing him of.

Eminem's publicist declined comment on the Source's story.

"My Dad's Gone Crazy"

[Intro:]
[Tuning Tv]
[Eminem Snortin Crack]

[Tv Presenter:]
Hello boys and girls
Today we're gonna talk about father and daughter relationships
Do you have a daddy?
I'll bet you do
[Door opens]
who's your daddy?

[Hailie:]
Daddy, what're you doing?

[Beat starts]

[Eminem:]
Haha

[Eminem & Hailie:]
Ok then! everybody, listen up!

[Eminem:]
I'm goin to hell, who's comin' with me?

[Hailie:]
Somebody, please help him!
[giggle]
i think my dad gone crazy!

[Verse #1:]
There's no mountain i can't climb
There's no tower too high,
No plane that i can't learn how to fly
What do i gotta do to get through to you, to show you
There ain't nothing i can't take this chainsaw to
[Hailey Makes Chainsaw Sound]
*****in' brain's brawn, and brass balls
I cut 'em off, i got 'em pickled and bronzed in a glass jar
Inside of a hall, with my framed autograph,
Sunglasses with elton john's name, on my drag wall
I'm out the closet, i been lying my ass off
All this time, me and dre been ****** with hats off

[Dr Dre:]
Suck it marshall

[Eminem:]
So tell laura and her husband to back off
Before i push this mother****** button and blast off
And launch one of these russians, and blast off
[Hailie Makes Explosion Sound]
Blow every ****** thing, except afghanistan on the map, off
when will it stop? when will I knock the crap off?
[Knocking]
Haley, tell 'em baby

[Haley:]
My dad's lost it

[Chorus:]
[Eminem:]
There's really nothin' else to say I, i can't explain it

[Hailie:]
I think my dad gone crazy!

[Eminem:]
A little help from hailie jade won't you tell em' baby
[Hailie:]
I think my dad gone crazy!

[Eminem:]
Theres nothin' you could do or say that could ever change me
[Hailie:]
I think my dad gone crazy!

[Eminem:]
There's no one on earth that can save me, not even halie

[Hailie:]
I think my dad gone crazy!

[Verse 2:]
It's like my mother always told me
[Eminem Impersinates His Mom]
Rana Rana Rana Rana Rana Rana Rana Rana Rana Rana,
and codeine and goddamit, you little mother*****er
If you aint got nothin' nice to say then don't say nothin'
uh..
***** that shit, bitch, eat a mother*****in' dick
Chew on a prick, and lick a million mother*****in' cocks per second
I'd rather put out a mother****** gospel record
I'd rather be a *****-whipped bitch, eat *****
And have *****-lips glued to my face with a clit-ring in my nose
Then quit bringin my flows, quit giving me my ammo
Can't you see why i'm so mean? if y'all leave me alone, this wouldn't be my
m.o.
I wouldn't have to go eenie meenie minie mo
Catch a homo by his toe, man i don't know no more
Am i the only *****in one who's normal any more?

[Hailey:]
Dad

[Chorus]

[Verse #3:]
My songs can make you cry, take you by surprise
And at the same time, make you dry your eyes with the same rhyme
see what you're seeing is a genius at work
Which to me isn't work, so it's easy to misinterpret it at first,
Cuz when i speak, it's tongue in cheek
I'd yank my *****in teeth before id ever bite my tongue
I'd slice my gums, get struck by *****in' lightning twice at once
And die and come back as vanilla ice's son
And walk around the rest of my life spit on
And kicked and hit with shit, every time i sung
Like r kelly as soon as "bump n' grind" comes on
More pain inside of my brain, than the eyes of a little girl inside of a
plane
Aimed at the world trade, standin' on ronny's grave,
Screaming at the sky, till clouds gather as clyde mathers and bonnie jade
And thats pretty much the gist of it,Parents are pissed, but the kids love
it
Nine millimeter, heater stashed, in two-seaters with meat cleavers
I don't blame you, i wouldn't let hailie listen to me neither

[Chorus]

[Outro:]
[Eminem:]
Crazy

[Hailie:]
ha ha
You're funny daddy!

Eminem for sale: US$10 million only!

February 25 - 12:58 EST   By Larry Angell - As reported yesterday, Eight Mile Style, Eminem's music publisher, is suing Apple claiming that the company used one of the rapper's songs—"Lose Yourself" from the 2002 film "8 Mile"—in an iTunes television commercial without permission.

Eminem has integrity:
The suit said "Eminem has never nationally endorsed any commercial products..."

Or perhaps not:
"...even if he were interested in endorsing a product any endorsement deal would require a significant amount of money, possibly in excess of $10 million."

Just 10 million, huh? So much for indie pride.
