Doom (typeset as DOOM in official documents) is a 1993 science fiction horror-themed first-person shooter video game by id Software. It is considered one of the most significant and influential titles in the video game industry, for having ushered in the popularity of the first-person shooter genre. The original game is divided into three nine-level episodes and distributed via shareware and mail order. The Ultimate Doom, an updated release of the original game featuring a fourth episode, was released in 1995 and sold at retail.
In Doom, players assume the role of an unnamed space marine, who became popularly known as "Doomguy", fighting his way through hordes of invading demons from Hell. With one third of the game, nine levels, distributed as shareware, Doom was played by an estimated 10 million people within two years of its release, popularizing the mode of gameplay and spawning a gaming subculture. In addition to popularizing the FPS genre, it pioneered immersive 3D graphics, networked multiplayer gaming, and support for customized additions and modifications via packaged files in a data archive known as "WADs". As a sign of its effect on the industry, first-person shooter games from the genre's boom in the 1990s, helped in no small part by the game's release, became known simply as "Doom clones". Its graphic violence, as well as satanic imagery, made Doom the subject of controversy.
The Doom franchise was later continued with the follow-up Doom II: Hell on Earth (1994) and numerous mission packs, including Master Levels for Doom II (1995), and Final Doom (1996). Originally released for PC DOS, the games have later been ported to numerous other platforms. Once the game's source code was released in 1997, it spawned even more adaptations, as fans further ported the code to countless devices. The series started to lose mainstream appeal as the technology of the Doom game engine was surpassed in the mid-1990s, although fans have continued making WADs, speedruns, and modifications to the original. The franchise again received popular attention in 2004 with the release of Doom 3, a retelling of the original game using new technology, and an associated 2005 Doom motion picture. Doom 4 was announced as in production in 2008 and was later retitled simply as Doom.
Game nie still saya main lagi kerana segelintir orang termasuk saya masih main , bukan versi asal tapi fan made yang dipanggil WADs ...... WADs sudah lebih 100 judul yg direka oleh fanmade dan diantaranya yang popular ialah Plutonia 2 , Community Chest series , Speed of Doom , Chillax .......
Bukan itu sahaja , music theme dalam DOOM juga direka untuk fan ...

antara FPS terawal sama2 dgn Wolfenstein 3D dan Duke Nukem
sebelum DOOM keluar , Wolfenstein 3D keluar dulu ... sama satu company .... Duke Nukem pun best gak gamenya ....
kalau ikut kronologinya , Wolfenstein 3D melahirkan graphic yg unik tapi lantai satu level sahaja ....DOOM pulak telah menambahkan graphic yg lebih menarik dan melahirkan sistem lif , tangga , speed run dan button strafe kiri dan kanan utk dodge .... Duke Nukem lak boleh lompat sana dan sini ....
tapi satu yg ramai org lupa , ade satu lagi game tapi melahirkan permainan menggunakan mouse utk alway look atas , bawah , kiri dan kanan adalah dari Marathon ...
Quake lahir dgn dah ade pakej tu .... dan tambahan pulak Quake total 3D ....

Kalau tengok pada youtube tu , game dia ade persamaan dgn Rage .... maybe menggunakan Rage engine , graphic dia cantik ... nie saya tepek youtube dia punye trailer ..... last video dia ade tulis DOOM Beta .... maybe DOOM 4 pun nak keluar ....
Okay , aku nak terangkan musuh2 yg ada di DOOM 1 , DOOM 2 , dan Final DOOM ( Plutonia Experiment dan TNT Evilution ) .... DOOM 64 dgn DOOM 3 takde kat sini ....

Musik2 dalam ost DOOM nie sebenarnya diadaptasikan daripada lagu2 band rock atau band metal yg terkenal terutamanya dari band Thrash Metal yg popular sekitar 80an dan 90an antaranya The Big Four ( Metallica , Megadeth , Anthrax dan Slayer ) .... Pantera pun ada .....
Icon of Sin akan dijumpai di penghujung permainan iaitu di Map 30 ( hanya di DOOM 2 dan Final DOOM ) .... utk membunuhnya perlu menggunakan rocket dan tembak di tengah kepalanya ( kotak empat segi ) .... tapi bukan senang nak kalahkan dia kerana dia akan spawn banyak2 askar utk sekat player dari dapat ruang .....
game FPS macam nilah yg best bukannya COD dan Battlefield.LEpas ni semua FPS develepor pakat2 buat FPS dgn percentage nyawa automatik recover start dgn Halo.Takde cabaran langsung
antara mod yg digemari oleh doom fans .... mula2 main memang tak biasa sebab banyak button ekstra yg perlu kena hafal .... aku selaku peminat resident evil serie memang enjoy mod RE4 nie ada kat DOOM ....

game Portal tu aku belum pernah main lagi .... ntah , aku tak tahu kenapa ...
maybe takde ...
maksud aku half life ataupun system shock ada platforming dan puzzle solving.Portal tu dikira game first person puzzle kebetulan pula studio Valve yg buat.Gam klasik mmg best byk challenge.COD start tak best lepas COD 4 sbb recycle benda sama.campaign mssions pun 3 jam je baru abis.FPS sebenarnya start tak best bila masuk console dgn auto aiming,2 weapon limit dan nyawa auto recover.
