PETALING JAYA: Heavy rain caused several areas in the Klang Valley to be inundated by flash floods on Monday afternoon.
Social networking sites were flooded with pictures and status updates on the flood situation.
Duchess of Semantan posted a picture of floods in front of the Empire Gallery in Jalan Semantan in Damansara Heights.
“Avoid Damansara Heights, Jalan Semantan. Flash flood,” she tweeted.
KL Traffic Updates tweeted about flash floods in Jalan Kia Peng, Jalan Mahameru, Jalan Duta, Jalan Bangsar, and Damansara Heights.
There were also many tweets about fallen trees around Klang Valley.
Fallen trees were reported at Persiaran Jln Raja Chulan near Istana Pahang, Kampung Pandan roundabout, at 22.3km of the Bukit Lanjan-Jalan Duta and outside of the KLCC tunnel.
According to Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB), train commuter services would be affected due to the flooding.
Motorists are advised not to speed in the bad weather.
