An episode from the National Geographic TV series, Air Crash Investigation.
The disturbing crash of Air France Flight 447 on June 1st 2009, which should never have happened, seems to show how complacent some pilots can become with modern Autopilot systems, to the extent that, when faced with a minor emergency where they have to suddenly take manual control, they can appear to forget the most basic of piloting principles - if facing a stall condition, Power Up & Nose Down!
On another video, posted by Captain Chesley Sullenberger - it appears that, although it was pilot error that ultimately caused the crash, the design of the Airbus cockpit could have been a major contributory factor: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kERSSR...

On 1 June 2009 the flight was being operated by an Airbus A330 and, just after 02:14 UTC, the aircraft crashed into the Atlantic Ocean.
