BATU GAJAH: A security guard was injured when his colleague discharged his pump gun in front of a bank here on Saturday evening. Batu Gajah police district chief Assistant Commissioner Shaharon Anuar Abdul Latif said the incident happened around 5pm.
The 40-year-old victim was hurt in his back. "Initial investigation revealed that the victim was injured after his friend, who is also a security guard, discharged his gun towards the road. "The shot caused part of the road gravel to dart and hit the victim.
"The victim was taken to the Batu Gajah Hospital where he received outpatient treatment. it was a scratch on the skin measuring about 2cm," he said here today.
According to Shaharon, the victim's friend, 24, had been detained and police have seized a Hawk 12 Bore pump gun and six bullets for investigation. He said the investigation was being conducted under Section 39 of the Arms Act 1960 for discharging a firearm at an unauthorised place.
