Microsoft unveils cheapest Windows phone

KUALA LUMPUR, March 24, 2015:

Just a week ahead of Samsung launching its latest flagship Galaxy 6 in Malaysia, Microsoft has begun sales of its cheapest smartphone – the Lumia 532 dual SIM – for RM379.

And as an extra incentive, Microsoft said in a statement today that it is also throwing in free return flights on AirAsia for device purchases by April 30.

The promotion of a return flight will be credited in the form of AirAsia Big points, which can be redeemed for a return flight ticket to Phuket, Krabi, Cambodia, Vietnam, Singapore and others destinations. Detail on this promotion can be found at www.airasiabig.com/promos/lumia.

Bruce Howe, general manager for Microsoft Mobile Devices Sales for Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei, said the latest Windows Phone 8.1 is a 1.2 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 processor powered smartphone that builds on the success of the Lumia 530.

Available for sale from Friday, the smartphone runs on 1GB of RAM, with 8GB internal mass memory plus up to 128GB MicroSD add-on plus 30GB free OneDrive cloud storage.

Featuring a four-inch WVGA LCD 800×480 screen, the device has a 5MP Lumia camera at the back and a VGA camera in front.

Measuring 118.9mm by 65.5mm and 11.6mm thick, the Lumia 532 weighs 136.3g and comes in a range of colours including bright green, bright orange, white and black.
