Aamir Khan is a world-class listener: Trainer Rahul Bhatt Rameshinder Singh Sandhu, Hindustan Times, Ludhiana      Updated: Sep 29, 2015 14:58 IST

Aamir Khan’s trainer for his next movie ‘Dangal’, Rahul Bhatt says training the star is inspiring for several reasons and how he never puts the weight of being a perfectionist on others (Sikander Singh Chopra/HT Photo)

No doubt, every Bollywood fan is welloriented to the fact that actor Aamir Khan (50) has gained about 25 kilos for his upcoming film ‘Dangal’, the shooting of which recently started in villages around Ludhiana but very few know the man who trained him for this humongous (no pun intended) task.

He is 32-year-old Rahul Bhatt, a celebrity fitness trainer and son of acclaimed film-maker Mahesh Bhatt who says it is very inspiring to train the perfectionist Khan, not for one but many reasons.

“This is my maiden opportunity to be responsible for Aamir Khan’s fitness and diet and from day one. I have observed that his dedication towards his goals is beyond comparison and he is highly disciplined. Most importantly, he is a ‘world class listener’, a virtue that very few individuals have,” says Bhatt, who is also accompanying the actor in Ludhiana for his daily training.

Ask him if it makes him nervous to train Khan who is known for his perfectionist attitude and he says with a smile, “I have been asked this question several times but I must say that he never lets you feel the weight of it. He wants to keep learning. I may be younger than him in age, but he listens to me with all sincerity. In fact, he has surrendered himself and never interferes in any of the training sessions or diet discussions that I hold. In a nutshell, he respects the expert and every mentor he hires and not all stars have the same attitude.”

However, it was astonishing to absorb that in the coming months, Aamir Khan will also have to regain his normal weight (60-70 kilos) within five months and for the same has to go for highly intensive training on a daily basis.

“Aamir is also required to portray a younger Mahavir Singh Phogat in his mid-20s, so bringing him back to his normal body weight also has to be worked at. It will include training three to four times a day, a strict diet plan and a lot more that will be very challenging for him and we have to achieve it within five months,” he says.

Mel Gibson and Sylvester Stallone's reunion in "The Expendables 4" has yet to be confirmed. However, Gibson is said to be directing “3 Idiots” star Aamir Khan, 50, in film adaptation of the epic narrative “Mahabharata.” It will be Gibson's first project with the Bollywood actor.

Khan is currently filming “Dangal” and is said to start filming “ Mahabharata” afterwards. He has wanted to make the film adaptation of the epic narrative for a long time, and he has been in talks with Gibson for the project.

It is expected that “Mahabharata” will be one of the biggest motion pictures made in India. A big Hollywood studio will back the movie, which will start filming in early 2017, a source told Catch News.

According to the source, the “Mahabharata” script is already locked and the pre-production and set designing for the movie have already been started. Gibson is planning to add more actors from India in movie, the sources added.

Backed by a Hollywood studio, most of the “Mahabharata” scenes will be filmed at a studio in the United States. The American company VFX is set to on the visual effects of the movie to be directed by Gibson.

“Mahabharata” will serve as Gibson’s second epic war saga as a director. In 1995, he directed “Braveheart,” which was written by Randall Wallace who earned an Academy Award nomination for the screenplay.

It is yet to be confirmed whether Gibson will only direct “Mahabharata” or he will also co-star with Khan in the film. In “Braveheart,” the Oscar-winning director-actor played the lead role William Wallace.

In 1996, “Braveheart” won four Academy Awards, which are Best Makeup, Best Effects, Sound Effects Editing, Best Cinematography, Best Picture and Best Director. Among the cast members were Sophie Marceau, Patrick McGoohan, Sean Lawlor and Sandy Nelson.

While waiting for his "The Expendables 4" project with Stallone, Gibson is also set to direct the 2016 drama film “Hacksaw Ridge,” which recently casted Australian actor Hugo Weaving to play the father of “The Amazing Spider-Man” star Andrew Garfield,  The Wrap reported. Other Australian actors in the cast are Jacob Warner, Richard Pyros, Luke Pegler, Nico Cortez and Harry Greenwood.
