KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 15, 2015:An Australian metalcore band was apparently detained by Malaysian Immigration after their show organiser failed to present their working visas before a performance here yesterday.
The band, which goes by the name “I Killed The Prom Queen (IKTPQ)” was nabbed by immigration officials who were present at the show right after the band completed their performance.
The news broke after one of its group members, Jona Weinhofen, tweeted about their situation in his official Twitter page last night at around 2am. His tweet reads, “Apparently we’re going to be detained for 4 – 14 days in a Malaysian immigration detention centre.”
Weinhofen kept his fans in the know by continuously updating his Twitter post about their condition at the immigration centre.
“Weirdest part is some of the immigration officers asked us to autograph stuff & one is wearing a prom queen shirt. Still locking us up tho.
“At least we have food and water and we are in good health. Things could definitely be worse and our situation pales to other recent events,” he tweeted.
However, an organiser when contacted was unable to confirm the details of the case but said they would resolve the matter as soon as possible.
The band, which is famous for their song Say Goodbye, performed at Fahrenheit88 in Bukit Bintang. The opening acts were performed by local musicians such as Massacre Conspiracy Official, SOG, As Our Throne and Dead Eyes Glow.
