1）如果您只是为了响应，而不是做前线的引导工作，我建议你参与活动时尽量尋找据高点，這是群眾参与和平请愿安身立命最好的地方。選擇好的据高点，可以俯視全場的動靜，但是缺點是看不清楚第一線的細節動作。不过你可以通过手机拍下双方的一举一动。
2）在现场，可以做到保持和平、冷静與客观的态度很重要，切忌鼓励群眾沆瀣一氣，跟著群眾起鬨而忘了自己的角色。
3）带备安全帽是保護頭部避免受傷的重要器具。在群眾被警方强行殴打清场的情况里，往往受傷而致命的都是頭部的傷害，有效保護頭部至少可以保住性命。
4）当警方发射催泪弹时，水炮时，您千万不要夹在反抗者与警方的中间，更忌諱穿梭在雙方中間的無人地帶，這是最危險的地方。
5）当警方采取清场行动，在混乱中，立刻快速在现场找到掩蔽物显得非常重要。這個掩蔽物不論是樹幹、垃圾桶、公用電話亭都可以，只要可以擋住亂石亂彈的直接攻擊，就是暫時掩身的好地方；如果掩蔽物剛好位在兩軍的中間，可以觀測雙方，那是最理想不過了。
6）還有一個理想的掩蔽物，就是利用路邊的圍牆。像这类和平请愿的人群里，具有攻击力的民众不多，当然我们也不能忽略混乱中有人乘机捣乱，引发雙方互相的攻擊。这个情况下，双方都不會把石頭或催泪弹丟到馬路旁邊沒有人的地方，沿（貼）著路邊的圍牆走動最安全，即使丟斜了的石頭飛過來，圍牆也是最好的屏障。
【怎样防范催泪瓦斯？】
具体预防催泪弹的方法有4种，说明如下：
1．不要涂抹护肤和油脂性的护肤品，因為这类护肤品吸收性能强，可能会把催泪弹中的化学成分吸入皮肤。
2．如果使用防晒用品，要尽量选择使用易溶於水的防晒油。
3．选择穿封闭性能较好的衣服，并戴上帽子，不要戴隐形眼镜。
4．带备潜水用的眼镜，配合使用浸湿的毛巾捂住鼻子，可以有效抵制催泪瓦斯带来的更多痛苦。
5．不幸在催泪弹范围里挨了毒招时，应儘快用水进行清洗，通过擤鼻涕、咳嗽和吐口水的方式将呼吸系统内的催泪弹化学成分排出，避免吸入体内﹔不要瘙痒皮肤﹔以及立即更换衣服和隐形眼镜。
【禁止项目】
1．禁止涂抹护肤用品，因為护肤用品会吸收催泪弹中的化学成分，但是容易溶於水的护肤用品则可以使用。
2．不幸被抓住了，那立刻照警方给你的解决中催泪弹后的正确处理方法，不要死牛搞对抗，痛苦的是您自己。
3．催泪弹属於危险化学成分，虽然其名称叫催泪弹，但是在大马这种乾热天气情况下，身体染上催泪弹粉剂者会感到全身发烫瘙痒，眼睛、嘴巴、鼻子和呼吸系统会出现疼痛，眼睛看不清楚东西、流鼻涕和呼吸困难等症状。但大多数情况下，如果处理得当的话，疼痛症状会在1小时内逐渐消失。但是如果直接吸入催泪弹化学粉剂，且得不到正确的治疗处理，也会危及生命安全，或者留下后遗症。
【以下人士注意】
本身有哮喘、呼吸系统疾病和皮肤病的人士，以及小孩、老人和孕妇，不要参与，因为您受催泪弹的危害要比正常人更為严重。如果您非要支持活动，请注意现场变化，做到随时抽身离开恶劣的环境。
【备注】
■ 警方发射催泪弹的最佳时机——》风向吹向和平情愿者的时候。
■ 不幸被扣留时，请保持镇定，录口供时，不要随意签名。
■ 对于被扣留的和平人士，民联、私人团体们的律师绝对不会坐视不理，他们会想尽办法来对政府施压，务求把你救出。
