2011 年 2 月 11 日，副总统奥马尔苏莱曼透过国家电视台宣布，穆巴拉克已经辞去总统职务并将权力移交给埃及武装部队最高委员会。埃及革命，令在位30年的强势专横的铁腕总统穆巴拉克也黯然下台。
