A young couple moving into an apartment in California saved a little boy's life when they placed a mattress down as he fell out of a window, authorities said. Konrad and Jennifer Lightner were moving a mattress into their new Burbank pad at around 5:30 p.m. Sunday when the boy fell out of a second-story window and got caught in some phone lines, MyBurbank.com reported. After a few moments, the 3-year-old fell from the lines and tumbled into Konrad's open arms, the site said. The quick-thinking husband placed the child on the mattress while his wife called police, authorities said. The boy wasn't injured, but was taken to Children's Hospital Los Angeles as a precaution. The couple told MyBurbank.com they'd seen the little boy throwing his toys out the window while they were moving their stuff into the apartment. The tot fell from the window after crawling out to retrieve his toys, they said. The tyke's parents were reportedly in another part of the apartment when the incident occurred.
