A nurse has been struck off for serious misconduct after being caught playing hide-and-seek in bed with a patient. Sarah-Anne Baldwin, 46, hid under the covers while the 6ft 5ins man, 30, was in bed. A disciplinary hearing was told of photos showing Mrs Baldwin hugging the patient. It ruled she had failed to “maintain sexual boundaries”. Presenting officer David Clark said: “Photographs of Mrs Baldwin and X were found on a computer. A number show her under the duvet of X whilst he is in the bed.” Mrs Baldwin, who was deputy manager of Bryn Siriol respite unit in Penparcau, Aberystwyth, run by charity Mencap, said: “The suggestion of sexual activity or potential sexual arousal is wholly untrue.” No police charges were brought and the case was heard by the Nursing and Midwifery Council.
