A Japanese artist has 'unzipped' public spaces using giant three-dimensional artworks. Kitagawa Jun installed the giant zippers across his home town of Tokyo in the latest of his unusual pieces. The 2D and 3D zips have been stealthy placed in public parks, ponds and walls. Each one reveals normally concealed areas, including a buildings framework and the water lingering beneath a ponds surface. The works have created a buzz around Tokyo, with tonnes of residents posing for pictures with the zips. Having made his name by adorning naked public statues with spare t-shirt's, Jun says he aimed to give viewer's a "more intimate look into the world." He now plans to place more installations in the on-going project in public spaces. Mirror
